I'm sure there will be conversation about the State of the Union address this evening, possibly even during the speech. For those who want something else to do, there's always: The State of the Union Drinking Game
EVENT | # of Drinks | Every time he says.... | | “The state of our union is strong…” | 1 | mandate | 1 | Iraq | small 1 | terror (however it’s pronounced) | small 1 | Iyad Allawi | 1 | democracy | 2 | elections | 1 (+1 if referring to his own) | freedom | 1 | Saddam Hussein or Saddam | 1 | the name of another prominent Baathist | 3 | "Bring it on" | Arm-wrestle the person next to you; loser drinks | Michael Moore | Stuff food in your mouth and drool | “nukular” | 1 | Any "_______" Security (i.e. Homeland, Social, Economic, Job, etc.) | 1 | bipartisan or bipartisanship | 2 (+1 if followed by giggle or chuckle) | seniors or "senior citizens" | 1 | invest(ment) (in the context of Social Security) | 1 | "younger workers" | 1 | "the opportunity to invest their portion of Social Security" (or something similar) | 2 | "prescription drugs" | 2 | “foreign oil” | 1 | God (or any euphemism for God) | 2 | sacrifice | 1 - in the context of the armed forces; 2 - for civilians | "tax burden" | 1 | "tort reform" or "malpractice reform" | 1 | "frivolous lawsuits" | 1, then threaten to sue someone for something ridiculous | evil or evildoers | 2 (+1 if he is referring to lawyers) | "Don't mess with Texas!" | Locate the nearest Texan; mess with him/her; then drink | | | More here: http://www.drinkinggame.us/ |

Just in case you want to play the game, here's some info www.drinkingliberally.org When George W. Bush opens his mouth, liberals around the country need a drink. Don't be alone on Wednesday night as W. shares his State of Delusion. Watch in Brooklyn or Manhattan with two gatherings of Drinking Liberally. 1. The PARK SLOPE DRINKING LIBERALLY has its first gathering Wed, Feb 2. W's Mistakes of the Union speech will be on 2 TVs, and you'll have company to shiver, shout and share the moment. Drinking Liberally - Park Slope First Wed, every month - 7 pm onward Commonwealth - 5th Avenue at 12th Street (take the R or F to 4th Ave/9th Street) State of the Union Starts at 9pm. 2. I think Strawberry may have a rare hyperdyslexic type disorder where his eyes see a post and his brain interprets the characters as, "What are you doing with that drill?" (and that's just the least unpleasant symptom) |
