"Iraqi militants claimed in a Web statement Tuesday to have taken an American soldier hostage and threatened to behead him in 72 hours unless the Americans release Iraqi prisoners. "

But it turns out its just a GI Joe type doll.

Do you think they are losing their power? Just a little?

It probably wasn't any militants, just some clown making a sick joke:

quote:

The statement appeared on a Web site where militants’ statements are often posted and was in the name of a group that has claimed previous kidnappings, the Mujahedeen Brigades.

The Arabic text, however, contained several misspellings and repetitions.

Liam Cusack, of the toy manufacturer Dragon Models USA Inc., said the image bore a striking resemblance to the African-American version of its "Cody" action figure.

"It is our doll ... To me, it looks definitely like it is," Cusack told The Associated Press. "Everything the guy is wearing is exactly what comes with our figure. If you look at the two pictures side by side, it’d be a huge coincidence."

The company, based in City of Industry, Calif., produced 4,000 of the figures in 2003 for the U.S. military for sale on its Kuwait bases. It was never sold in the United States but is traded online among collectors, sometimes to use in highly realistic dioramas, he said.

Or do they have a sense of humor? Actually I kinda doubt they do and the thought of terrorists with a sense of humor, now that is really, scary!!

A year ago our military were claiming there were less than 5,000 terrorists in Iraq. A month or so ago they admitted to 15,000 or maybe 20,000. A week ago General Casey claimed, coalition forces had killed 15,000 insurgents and terrorist in 2004, using body counts for, I believe, the first time since Vietnam. Obviously, Zaqawi and his buds took a pass on the elections and didn't take advantage of the fact we pulled troops off other duties to guard polling places and attack pipelines, refineries, generating plants, etc.

Just how many of these pissants are there in Iraq?
