We will be playing on Tues., Feb. 8th at the Dancing Goat in South Orange. We'll be playing acoustic rock originals and covers. This will be an early show starting at 7:30PM sharp with a $6 covre for two great bands. We are opening for Aguafuego who I am told is amazing. We're all looking forward to this show. Please stop by if you can.

Shawn, My wife and I just bought a house in Maplewood (moving in soon) ... I currently play bass in a band, The Coloursound (link with music: http://www.thecoloursound.com/music.html). We mostly play two venues in the city (Arlene's Grocery and Don Hill's) every other month. We've been getting alot of attention and would love to get involved in the Maplewood rock scene. Also, what is 'Maplewoodstock'?

Leny:

Very cool! Congrats on the move... The rock scene here is a lot of fun. You have acoustic rock, r&b, blues, jazz, rock, everything. Very eclectic. There are a few venues we play in town and in the surrounding area.

1) The Dancing Goat - Great venue. Full sound system. If you come by on Tuesday the booking agent, Michael Locker, will be there and I'm sure he'd love to get you guys there. That's how we started playing there. I went one night with a demo in hand and met him while he was organizing the show that evening.

2) Here's 2 the Arts - a new Maplewood venue with full sound system and awesome deserts. It's a small newish venue and very intimate. good for acoustic shows.

3) Van Gogh's Ear - a venue in Union that always has a crowd. The thing with this one is that they expect you to play acoustic. Since my band is mostly acoustic oriented it's not that difficult for us but for some bands it could be depending on your setup.

Maplewoodstock is a festival taking place in the park in July. There is also SummerMusic I believe but it might have morphed into Maplewoodstock. Not sure. Jim Buchanan is the head of that - great guy who keeps the music coming in the comunity.

If you make it out on Tuesday please stop by to say hi. I also feel your lead singers geat - I'm also a Taylor/Fender Tele player.

Shawn, Thanks for the post. As you can tell, it's pretty much straight up and down rock and roll ... with a ton of effects and other things going on (so, acoustic may be a problem for us ... our first run will probably be in front of a few friends in front of our backyard at a housewarming (!!)); I hope our neighbors are ready ...

Unfortunately, I won't be in Maplewood yet on Tuesday, but I look forward to seeing you guys play. I listened to your clips, and they sound great!

By the way, Doug is playing that tele out of the goodness of my heart :-) ... it's a japanese flametop ... one of the more quirky fenders made in the late 80s. I'll pass along your kind words about him ... he will love it.

Also, if you're up for it, we're at Don Hill's on Friday March 4th ... great venue and sound (the guitarist from White Light Motorcade is the sound guy ... that, in a word or two, is kinda wierd). Otherwise, I'll catch you when we land in Maplewood. Looking forward to it very much.
