Lately, I've been noticing the use of the middle initial "J" more and more often on MOL and elswhere, like in Ajc, Cjc, Mjc and so on...

So, is "J" the most common middle initial, and how many have the middle name of Joseph or Joan?

for women , I would expect it to be A or M, since many have the middle name of Ann or Marie.

(mine is neither - my middle initial is P)

Women often use their maiden name as the source of their middle initial. While names like Jones and Johnson are common, I think there are other letters of the alphabet which are more common for last names (at least in English).

I kept the H as my middle initial and dropped my last name initial (D) altogether, just so I'd have Shh as my initials!

I'd be willing to bet on J, because of all the varieties of John, Joseph, Jacob in European languages, men's and women's given names and surnames too. John, Jane, Jean, Johnson, Jackson, James, ..... Easy to bet with no hard data, though.

happy weekend!

My middle initial is T. I like to tell people it stands for Tiberius ... this way I get to kiss alien women like James T. Kirk

I know a lot or parents gave their kids the middle initial J from Bullwinkle J. Moose, Rocket J. Squirrel and Homer J. Simpson.

Sorry, a bit punchy this morning.
