Sbenois is constantly amazed at how many people post on MOL in the middle of what normal folks call the workday. Do any of you actually have jobs?

(I've taken the day off which explains my own posts)

I do, but I'm planning on quitting anyway, too long of a commute.
Anybody looking for a good software engineer? Possibly as a contractor?

13127 posts? (In which your own name appears at least 10,000 times?)

Well, most of us get paid, if that's what you mean.

Surprisingly, it's only 183 threads with Sbenois in the title.

I work in a Dilbert world. Right now we're rolling out a bunch of enterprise-level systems and there is a ton of testing to be done. My stuff is all working fine, so I take a few minutes to run something, a little more time to double-check the data, and then I have to sit around and wait for a hundred other things to happen.

<yawn>

I'm also doing a lot of online window-shopping.

Yes I still get more accomplished than most other people in my group.

Notice I almost never post at night when go home to my real job as a mom.

I've stopped posting because I have a job. It's been pretty busy lately and even if I felt like slacking, it would be difficult.

(home sick today)

Like Wendyn, evenings are for my family. Haven't had insomnia for a while, so no late-night posts.

I work solo here in NJ, and my company is in LA. I'm online 100% of the time, and on some days, an online exchange is the only conversation I have.

Freelance writer here. At my desk, on the computer during school hours. Writer's block time is MOL time.

I retired from my job several years ago in order to help care for a deaf grandchild. My husband and I run a local business from home. Right now we're on vacation in Florida.

I have a job, an IT kinda thing so keeping this open is not tough. MOL is my relief from it.

Plus, MOL with coffee takes the place of cigarettes in the a.m.

I never post while I am at work-- not having an internet connection there makes this a sure thing.

Earlster:

My office is looking right now to hire people with computer backgrounds to work part-time rating applications for computer jobs. Work must be done during daytime hours weekdays in our lower Manhattan office but hours are flexible. If you are interested, check my post in TechnicalSupport.

I have a full time job that I really enjoy. Then I come home to my other full time jobs, wife and mom, which I usually enjoy also. I turn to MOL for diversion, a "brief vacation" and a chance to vent to people who don't have to hear the heavy breathing that goes with the venting. There's a lot about today's world that makes one want to vent, and I appreciate the opportunity to read everyone's venting here on MOL. Sorry I haven't sent cash yet!!!

I visit here on weekends. Once in a while I may visit on a weekday night. And sometimes, rarely, at the end of a work day, around 5:00PM, if things are slow, I might come on to check things out.

Everything in moderation is best. Posting a little during the day or in the evening is far better than posting continually as one gets home for the evening or after having put hours in at work on MOL. (But to each their own - peace out).
