On Sunday I took my kids to South Mountain Reservation to get some fresh air. As we were walking I heard rustling in the woods. I told my children to very quiet thinking it was a deer. We looked into the woods and there was a guy probably in his late 20's. I was shocked and my kids turned white. The guy was in the woods with his pants to his ankles holding a magazine in one hand and pleasuring himself. Is this normal for the Reservation? |

We almost went to the reservation too. Why bring them into the woods for something they...never mind.

Ugh! I hope he zipped up after he was discovered. A friend of mine stumbled on an enthusiast in the woods (engaged in the the same activities) except he was completely naked. Different woods though, in Bergen county. |

On weekends I try to run in the reservation. On the trail where your allowed to drive, I used to see a couple of sights I wasn't interested in seeing. I switched to the trail that your not allowed to drive on and I find that to be, the more family oriented trail with, bike riders, dog walkers, runners and families strolling. Can't vouch for the woods in this area but I have a feeling it's better then the woods off the other trail. |

We ususally walk that trail as well Ukealalio. The guy was in the woods where you can drive. I dont think he was too concerned with people seeing him he was maybe 10 feet in the woods at the most. |

Clearly an exhibitionist. How gross. I usually walk up there with my dog. We go there a lot and have never seen any actual "activity," but I have seen more than enough used condoms for one lifetime. Had we been there he might have gotten his pecker bit off. Wonder if he would have liked that? Did you call the authorities? Exposing ones self to a minor(s) and all? |

Sounds like he wanted to be seen. I am about as non-judgemental as they ..., never mind. Anyway, some things, other people just don't need to be exp.. forget that, too. Hell, if you are an exhibitionist, go to a club where there are other people like you. Then you can watch each other without grossing out the rest of us. BTW - several years ago, TS and I went to the Chicago Zoo on Primate Sex Day. We did not know this as it was not advertised. But, as we walked up to each habitat, the monkeys, apes and chimps were all engaging in various happy ending activities. Couldn't get away from it. There was one big gorilla who was doing what Millie encountered, but without a magazine. When he was finished (didn't take but a couple seconds) he was looking at his hand. A mom & her young kids walked up & said "Oh! Look at the gorilla counting his fingers". Yeah, OK. Glad you weren't 5 seconds earlier. All I can say is, given how fast we walked thru that exhibit & how much "completed activity" we managed to encounter, I would be mighty pissed off if I were one of those female primates. Talk about selfish.... |

Meandtheboys I spoke to a friend who is a police officer and he told me that the reservation is a gay cruising area another words where men basically go to meet other men and engage in sex. He told me that police are aware of what goes on up there its just a matter of them being there at the right time. I did not call any authorities because i did not get a long enough look at his face and there were no cars in the area to get a plate number. |

We went up the reservation this weekend to and I was amazed at the collection of empty beer bottles and crumpled Budweiser cans. The used condom really completed the ambiance

Being there @ the right time ? Those Keystone cops couldn't catch water with a bucket . Talk about cutting taxes , the county cops would never be missed. Being there @ the right time , how about anytime. |

That is really something that should be looked into , the county does a lousey job of running & maintaining the reservation. Like that stupid fence that they pissed away $300,000 on . |

I'm only surpised that it came as a surprise. We stopped going because the cruising (esp mid to late afternoon) is gross and was even too obvious for our teenage kids. It is really disgusting and it spoils the reservation for other people. |

I have also heard that the reservation is a gay cruising area. I guess I just assumed those particular activities took place after dark and/or off the beaten (no pun intended) path. In other words, far away from where they might be seen. Always seemed to me daylight hours were family friendly. What about the kids? Were they upset? Old enough to understand? Can't imagine. Bad enough to stumble on something like that yourself, but with kids in tow. So sorry! Guess I won't go traipsing off in to the woods looking for deer any time soon. |

if I saw a guy, regardless of his sexual orientation, doing that in the reservation in pretty clear sight of my family, what would my liability be if I kicked his ? Id stand a pretty good chance since he would only have one hand free and his pants around his ankles. Just curious...seriously. |
