I'm surprised I didn't hear about this on MOL - so I'm posting for those who would wish to pay their respects.

I didn't feel comfortable posting his passing, although we heard about it on Sunday morning. John was a great man and will be missed by all who knew him. SoOrLady, if you should be present at his Funeral Mass on Thursday, please introduce yourself to me.

"John was a great man and will be missed by all who knew him."
- which is why I decided to post the information.. I would have been very upset if we hadn't heard about it in time to send flowers and pay our respects.

MOL is not the only source of public information as you know.

Happened to pass by the funeral home this afternoon---more people than I've ever seen in one spot in our towns: police, traffic officers, mourners paying their respects--- to a good man who was involved in our communities. May he rest in peace.

An added not, Cryan's will be closed Thursday. Sad, he went into the hospital right before Christmas and didn't make it home.

I waited in line at Holle's for over an hour tonight. The line went half way down to Valley Street. The whole Cryan family was there and what seemed to me to be half of the Essex and Union County Sheriff Departments. John was a good and generous man and will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace....
