Mr. Mayor: Re: your 12:15AM post:
Gosh, you're right. I guess I confabulated that one. So typical of me, sorry.

If it did exist, though, the usage would express my intended (and quite complimentary) meaning:
"omni" (adj.-"all" or "completely")
+ "follicated" (adv.-"covered by hair" or "hairy")

In other words, Mr. Mayor: in reverential reference to your evident DeadHead status, my intent was to celebrate what I assume is quite a healthy head of hair. There's no way I'd liken you to a pile of leaves.

-s.

Thanks for the explanation S.O.D.A. And the compliment?

Also, because I know that you are such a stickler for grammar and spelling, I will let you in on a little something. "Follicated" and even follicate are not words either. So now you understand more my confusion. Follicle is a word, but does not always pertain to hair.

And you were right, it was a typical of you... but typical for you is... well, I should stop; I do want you to be able to read this post. And I hope you were able to read the post left earlier, that unfortunately is no longer here, left by another MOLer.

From complaints about parking. . .

. . . To a lesson in grammar.

As far as thread drift goes, this must be a record. I love MOL.

Maybe not what he meant but follicate is too a word.

Connective tissue papillae of vallate papillae had a beehive-like shape and in follicate
papillae there were several vertical elliptical gaps, seen when the

LibraryLady

I see that you copied the sentence out of the first hit on the google web browser. I don't mean to beat a dead horse here....but Follicate is not a word, or at least not one that Webster's Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary, or Dictionary.com (Lexico Publishing Group) recognizes.

Sorry, Mayor.

A quick search of Medline (a NLM-sponsored peer-reviewed medical journal database) turns up 24,255 hits when you search on "follicate". It's an oto-laryngeal thing.

And I don't think that this was intended as a compliment.

I wouldn't call a 15 pound 2200 page dictionary an online source.

Mayor - probably not a big deal. After all, when's the last time you chewed gum too hard and yelled "Damn! I bit my follicate"?

Mayor,
Thank you for your lesson. Although I'm enjoying the schooling.Soda, I'm well aware of my improper grammar and really don't care to get called out on it in MOL. Nor was I delighted to be accused of Drunken Driving, owning or not owning a car, truck, trike etc. ,or having my intellect questioned on a post about PARKING.
For the record I do not recall attacking Mr.Rosner, only continuing a thread long JOKE about duckponds and the like. Since you seem to think that I am many years your junior and have designs on teaching me some sort of lesson, may I remind you that you do not always know your intended target that you seem to enjoy needling. One of the pleasures of MOL handles.

I also would hope Dave/Jamie would see fit to end a fellow MOLer's taunts, sound wave jibes, and other antagonistic postings, unless that particular person would (and as I have found out, he does not) like to be treated in the same manner.

D/J In all hopes to close this matter entirely. I apologize for having posted hastily last evening. It was out of anger. Anger caused by the above PERSONAL ATTACK. I enjoy this message board and do not wish to have the rules restated or have anybody censored b/c someone disagrees with anothers post.

Congrats Matt, on someone finally posting what needed to be said regarding the rantings and seemingly malicious comments posted by certain MOL visitors who cannot take criticism or even simple disagreements without resorting to childish bullying. I agree with you 100%.
