Well, la-dee-dah, he is finally marrying Camilla Schmilla Dilla. I still think he is a sc-mbag for marrying Diana just so he could use her as a breeder. It is just so despicable, and it turns my stomach every time I think of it. |

What if Camilla married Phyllis Diller? Would she then be Camilla Schmilla Dilla Dilla? |

Don't you think with "royalty" everyone knows the drill? Diana didn't know she was chosen because she was in the acceptable pool of women? I think that in this day and age, it is sad and pathetic that people follow these arcane codes of acceptabliity that result in nothing but pain and sadness. It doesn't seem that Diana or Charles were happy with the arrangement, but went along with it because they had to-I don't think love entered into it either way-it was an arranged marriage. |

I think the best I can do for the royal family is not to care about them. I am proud that my country is based on disdain for royalty. |

Hear hear Tom! We didn't go far enough in the Revolution... after Cornwallis surrendered we should have seized the British ships, loaded up the Continental Army and gone and invaded England with France and Spain's help. We could've knocked ol' King George right off the throne and established a fully Consitutional democracy throughout the colonies. And decent dental work. And why? Just so we wouldn't have to hear one more stinkin' story on the American media about the glamour and tragedy of the Royals. Who really cares about an ugly British gazillionaire widower getting married to his long-time mistress? |

Very witty. Sure, we have our own flavors of royalty here. Too many. And maybe we're hollow for having principles that we hold but don't adhere to. But they're ours! |

Am I the only one who thinks "the other woman" looks more like "the other man"--in drag?

Soda, I do agree that the romantic angle is nice. For the first time Charles really looks happy. Oh, how the course of history would have changed had Camilla waited until Chuck came back from his world tour, rather than marrying Parker-Bowles in a fit of pique so many years ago! |

Who remembers the scandal of the recorded phonesex conversations between them about 10-12 years ago? "I wish could be your tampon so I could spend the whole day in your knickers" Remember the SNL bit that followed, with Dana Carvey in a tampon costume?! |

If memory serves, it wasn't so much that she wouldn't wait, as that he wasn't willing to settle down at that time, or for quite some time. Lordy, Richard Nixon even harbored fantasies of having Trisha marry Charlie. Plus, the whole virginity angle. I wonder if mumsy would have allowed him to marry Camilla back in the '60's as she wasn't exactly known as the chaste type (and it seems that was a requirement, even when he married Diana). Yes, I pay attention to this crap because it's a complete rest from real life and the kinds of things that allegedly rule the world! |

My co-worker insists that Charles wanted to marry Camilla and Her Majesty nixed the idea. Hence, his running away to the service and Camilla hastily marrying someone else. |

The course of true love never did run smooth. I am amazed at the anger and sarcasm towards these two. Not that it matters in my life one iota, but isn't it nice that the future King of England( maybe), one who could marry anyone he probably wishes, wishes to marry his one true love, even if she is older and "handsome" and divorced.

I have no great love for "The Royals". I think they are a group of twits. However, I am happy for the Prince and the Lady because they now can be open about their relationship, which has been going on for over 30 years!! Amongst the upper classes morality is a little different than for us commoners. The basic rules are ask me no questions and I will tell you know lies and don't get caught. |
