Ah, the administration has done it again...

Never mind the real bill for the war in Iraq, or the putative bill for "fixing" social security. They are bad enough.

Now, even the Repubs in the Capitol are up in arms about the numbers (at least $720 Bn) that the administration is slowly divulging for the prescription drug bill.

This administration will spend us all into oblivion.

You just watch the foreign investors who begin to turn up their noses at investing in US Gov't debt...

Right. Republicans and Democrats are up in arms at the cost of vote-buying welfare. Everyone with an ounce of sense knew that drug bill was more costly than people said it would be. And when has a government program -- sorry, entitlement -- come in lower than projected. They all knew it, and they're just posturing now.

Same with the deficits. Bush puts a budget that holds spending on programs to less than inflation -- what congressman is going to allow that to happen? He'll vote for even more spending and decry the deficit at the same time to get re-elected. People LOVE pork and gifts from government.

That's why we need higher taxes.
