I'm sure it won't be missed as much as Carmelitas, but we noticed a couple of weeks ago that the "New" Sage Diner on Springfield Ave was out of business. From what i heard, new people bought it last year and did a partial remodelling after the original owner went back to Greece. It was never the same again. Let's hope someone new comes in and does something decent there. And brings back my cream of turkey soup. |

For about five weeks and two days after it re-opened last year under new ownership, it was pretty good as mediocre diners go. Then it really started to crash again. Service and food became awful again. Now one sign says "closed for remodeling." Another sign on an adjacent window says "For Lease by AAA Real Estate." That company has several properties on Springfield Avenue that have been vacant for a long, long time. |

Say it ain't so. The Sage diner is history. Are you sure the original owners went back to Greece. What makes you so sure that they are from Greece. I will sadly miss the gravy fries, the big cookie,Shereece,George, Walter K.,Louie,Salvo, and juke box selection #353(Cats in the Cradle). Good Times. |

As i said, that's what i heard. I can't even remember where i heard it... i might've read it here on MOL, or the woman (new owner?) who worked behind the counter just after it reopened might've told me. |
