FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) _ The woman who claimed to have seen
a baby being tossed from a moving car fabricated the story to cover
up a pregnancy and birth she had been trying to conceal, Broward
County Sheriff Ken Jenne said Friday. The baby was never thrown.
``It's not as horrible as we first thought,'' Jenne said. ``The
baby was never thrown out of a moving car. This is the case of a
disturbed woman who gave birth and did not want to keep her
child.'' |

Mwoody - I understand that you are trying to make the point that bigots keep us from adopting or second parent adoption, labeling us "unfit" as parents, based soley on the gender of our lifepartners. No matter how hard we fight to prove that we are fit, loving, willing parents who are 1000% choosing to take on the lifetime responsibility of becoming parents.
And yet, any heterosexual couple (or one night stand, for that matter) can produce a baby as a by-product of sexual activity. No one questions their abilities to parent.
But, I have to agree with the above posters. I think I'd choose to make the point a little differently, and without insulting the people who do manage to parent in a loving and proper manner, depsite the fact that they are heterosexual.

Clearly, this woman is not playing with a full deck. But I guess we should be grateful that she brought the baby in in the first place, instead of throwing him in a dumpster and leaving him to die. I guess she had some sick idea she'd come out looking like a hero?
Hopefully they can do what needs to be done to place this big, beautiful bouncing baby boy in a home where he'll be loved. |
