We went in this afternoon for lunch and I have to say that the food was great. Better than I imagined. I had the sushi lunch special and the fish literally melted in my mouth. The wife has a shrimp tempura bento box that was out of this world. It had the lightest tempura I have ever tasted. And the box was HUGE for the money. There was the biggest roll selection ever and so many other items on the menu for non sushi lovers. Plus, they DELIVER!!!!! I'm hooked. |

Oooh! We had a menu in our mail slot yesterday and we're excited here. My kiddies love shrimp and veggie tempura. I hope it's a nice dining option within walking distance. Will make the spring/summer nights a lot more enjoyable! |

They have Teriyaki, Tempura, noodle dishes and Katsu (fried) dishes. No problem at all for non-sushi eaters. Ate there with friends and family on Saturday night, it was terrific. Place was packed and it seemed all our friends were eating there also. |

Shh... I went to the website, watched the intro , but when I click on ENTER, I get an error message that the file was not found. "Not Found The requested URL /default1 was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." What is on the site? a Menu? |

I had that problem but then clicked on the text (I think) and it worked. Yup, just click on the text "enter" (it's underlined). Takes you to the menu and other info. FYI, the menu is not the new one that just came out so not sure what might be different. (Mostly the same, just some different text styles I think.) |

We went for dinner tonight. A Weds. night around 6:45 pm and the place was packed! Everything was good, including the service. The girls were happy, I was happy, Mr.Shh was happy. It was a nice meal. Lots of happy, familiar faces. A good sign. I hope they keep up the good business. |

Dave and I had an enjoyable lunch there yesterday...they have a few kinks to work out but overall it was a good deal for lunch. It was probably more enjoyable since we didnt discuss MOL. One interesting thing I noticed...three guys in business attire met in front of St. James Gate, talked a bit, thought about going in, then crossed the street to come to Samurai Sushi for lunch. |

Samurai Sushi is a great addition to Maplewood village. Great food, good assortment of sushi and sushi-alternatives, and friendly service. Completely blows Waterlilies away! |

I'd like to make a plug here for the Samurai's competition, on South Orange Avenue, across from Rite Aid -- if only I could remember their name! Anyway, that place is small, friendly, and quiet, and the sushi is wonderful and very fresh. (This is the place that replaced Tomo's) |

Tha's Sakana Sushi, located on 134 Orange Ave. Their phone is 763-3585. Frankly, I'm disappointed that we have yet another cookie-cutter sushi place (Samurai Sushi). I guess I should be grateful that it's a step up from Waterlillies. |

My wife and I LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE Sakana sushi. It's our regular spot. Tom is super nice too, and knows how to take care of the regulars. Loyalty goes pretty far in my book. I HIGHLY recommend the Crunchy, Spicy Tuna Roll (make sure he gives it to you with a full piece of tuna instead of the chopped up tuna). UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! It comes with this creamy orange spicy sauce on top that isn't wasabi (as far as I can tell). I too was a bit disappointed that we got another sushi place. I personally think that Samurai Sushi was over-priced in Milburn. The area is pretty saturated with Japanese restaurants IMO. Having said that, I'll try out the new place in Maplewood, cause I should. |

There was a fire at Sakana Sushi (I think it was above the restaurant). I would call first to make sure it is open. |

The Maplewood # for Samurai is (973) 378-8336. They are also a MOL sponsor and it's listed in the restaurant directory: http://www.maplewoodonline.com/restaurant/ |
