I usually go to Kam Man on Rt 10, but was wondering if anybody has any other suggestions? I thought I passed something on Rt 22 awhile ago, but I don't quite remember where it is.

There are two on Route 22 (westbound side) that we sometimes frequent. The closer one, in Watchung, just past the Blue Star Shopping Center aka Watchung mall, perhaps, is Captain Fresh. Not real big but a large fish area. Further down, in Dunellen or Green Brook, is AFC or Asian Food Center. This one is huge and arranged ethnically. For example, there is an entire aisle of Thai imports, another of Korean, etc. They have a large produce area and a large bakery area.

In Bloomfield, on Belleville Ave close to the Belleville border, is another store whose name escapes me at the moment. It is Phillipine primarily but has imports from other Asian countries as well. In that same plaza is a Phillipine bakery and a pan-Asian restaurant. To get to this plaza just take Ridgewood Road in Glen Ridge one block past Bloomfield Ave. Turn right at the light onto Belleville Ave and follow the it down the hill, past Broad St, over the Parkway. The plaza will be on your left. If you get to the A & P you have just passed it. Just turn around in the parking lot and start looking immediately on your right.

Happy shopping.

Thanks Cathy, I thought you would come through. I think I am going to try AFC. Just heading out the door now, I'll let you know what I decide to 'experiment' with.

Well, I did make it to AFC today. I have been trying to expand my dimsum menu. I have been purchasing spring roll/wonton wrappers and collecting menus. I don't think I got anythng too extravagant today. Some of my purchases:
Kimchi Dumplings (nice, lightly spicey), Dumplings - Chicken and Cabbage (not as tasty as the discounted ones at KamMan or Trader Joe's), Ripe Glutonous Rice Dumplings (the only thing that actually made me gag). Loved the Shrimp ravioli, very nicely priced, under $3 for 24, and the $.99 steamed vegetable (assorted) buns in the fresh section along with the rice wontons. Also picked up some roasted shelled chestnuts for under $1, will use in some desserts. I didn't buy any of the fresh produce or fish because I knew that I wouldn't be using anything immediately. Unfortunately, there was a very large dead (buffalo?) fish floating in their tank. Maybe I should have told them, otherwise I really enjoyed the place and will be returning there soon.
