This looks like it's going to be great.

You can rent the British old series of The Hitchhikers Guide at We Got Movies. Might be fun to have a viewing before the debut of the flick.

Yeah, but there's a vicious rumor running around that Zaphod's second head is going to be inside one of his nostrils.

That's just *wrong*.

Gonna be hard to beat the BBC series, since that followed the book so closely--really captured the tongue-in-cheek tone of Adams.

Who is your favorite? I am torn between Slartibartfast and the mice.

Fans of Vogon poetry (and you know who you are) should visit this site:

Great to see some of the actors from The Office getting high-profile work.

Anyone see the pilot of the Americanized Office? Yikes.

Where can one see it? The Office is a great sitcom and yeah, I think Tim (can't recall the actor's name) is perfectly cast as Arthur Dent.

I have access to a DVD of the original BBC series if you want to see it. The new movie does not come out until May 6, I believe.

I just hope they don't ruin it like they have most British imports. Like the 'Avengers'. Steed and purdy they were not. Hollywood just does not seem to get English humour. (sp!)

Does anyone know if this movie is based solely on the Hitchhiker Guide book, or does it also cover the rest in the series?

I actually just finished rereading those books about 2 days ago. It will be fresh in my memory when I see the movie.

The new version is here:

Some of the cast are great, but it feels like a high school remake of a classic play.

Kind of disappointing. It's the same script with changed cultural references.
