Prior requests we're looking to address: 1) Be able to tell who's online and who's been online recently 2) Prefix Private Line message subject lines with something so they can be sorted or filtered 3) Global use of message board login for calendar & classified ad submissions 4) More specific guidelines for using the site New features we're considering 1) "Networking Neighbors" – an opt-in network you create. Whomever accepts your invitation gains access to your network and you to theirs, yet no personal information is revealed to anyone. 2) Enhanced user profile pages, including ratings relating to classified listings. 3) Enhanced sponsor services. 4) Improved organization of site Other ideas welcome |

Would be neat if there were a way -- in some kind general archive -- to more readily search for helpful advice. What if it were like the Classifieds, so that if you were new to the topic/need you could more readily find all the comments on "pediatric dentists" or "plumbers." I use the Home Fix-It and Please Help areas a lot and would love this! |

In the "Classifieds" section, If you could make it so that items are deleted after so many days it would be great. Don't ya' just hate looking at a bunch of old classifieds, and having no idea if they have sold or not. After X days the post should be removed from view, if the poster still has it for sale they can go online and make it viewable again for X days again. Since you moved the "Classifieds" to their own section, I rarely check over there, because of this. Other than that, I can't think of anything else, although your suggested upgrades sound nice. |

I'll say it again. (and again and again).. a Health and Medical forum and maybe a lost/found forum. So many posters are looking for Doctor rec's etc. or lost/found animals, it would be great to pull that info out of the town specific, please help, virtual cafe, soapbox, and put them into their own forum! |

Second for the spell check. What about an area where you could more efficiently collect reviews of local businesses, one that did not get archived. Have categoires of businesses with every buisiness that is reviewed listed? |

Oddly enough...after we'd lived here about 3 months, I recall writing someone I'd met online about how good it would be to have a real new comer's site -- not just the meet/great kinda stuff, but a living, breathing bulletin board with all the in's and out's on registering for camp and afterschool (all the baroque, hard to find protocol for same), finding sewing stores, etc. Your block association. What the heck recycling zone you are in. Right now, people are kind enough to answer in Please Help, and similar, but a more db oriented thing would be huge. Maybe a way to separate Education Politics from Education Practical? |

Spell check - my dictionary is falling apart. Lost all interest in the classified since they've been moved. How about a thread for "seasoned" citizens? I can't be the only one posting! Would love sharing common interests and discussing issues with peers. Living with high taxes, or bolting for the boondocks, etc. (This is not to say that I don't enjoy chatting with the youngsters in town.)

Hey, Dave, just checking in with you ... I don't know about turning that feature on, to let the general public know when certain people are online. Do you think it could discourage the casual or "first-time" poster, if they knew that their usage of MOL was a matter of public record? People who want to announce their presence, will join in a discussion. |

I will start expiring the classified ads shortly, I just needed to modify the database structure first - which I believe I did successfully. |

That's exactly what I'm saying. There's a way to do it now, but the board software doesn't make it easy for people to figure out how. The classifieds will time out after a week unless the lister renews them. There will be an option to keep listers' email addresses hidden to prevent spam and scam operators from grabbing them. A message board login will be required to post classifieds and that login can be associated with the listing. |
