This is a message to the lowlife who STOLE the giant plastic green wine bottle (that belonged to one of the kids) my 9 year old nephews had in Saint James Gate the past few weeks ago!!! The bottle was to collect change for Children with cancer. How does it feel to STEAL from dying children? It broke my heart to see the crushed look on my nephew's face when the manager of the Gate told him someone stole the wine bottle with the money. I don't look forward to telling his brother, when he get's back from NYU Medical Center. I just can't believe people would stoop so low! I'm hoping whoever felt the need to STEAL the bottle reads this and has the deceny to return it! I think you're a total LOWLIFE!!! My nephew has stronger words for you, usually his mouth would be washed out with soap or he'd be punished for using the words, but considering the circumstances, I didn't have the heart to punish him. |

My God! Unreal. How much money was in the bottle? Perhaps we can all chip in and make up for the despicable thief. |

Thanks Lumpyhead- We have no way of knowing how much money was in the bottle. We left it there a few weeks ago. When we went to get it a little while ago we were told it had been stolen. I just read one of my nephews your post and he also says thanks! He also says "it's nice to know there are some nice people in the world." Does anyone happen to get a replacement giant plastic liquor bottle? I'd be more then willing to pay for it. The one nephew is just as upset someone stole his bottle as he is someone stole the money. |

I'm in too. Get the bottle and let us know when it's there. I'm sure with a little MOL attention we can fill it quickly. |

You guys are great! Thanks so much! Heres2theArts still has the Super sized Coke bottle left there for change because they were closed this afternoon when one of my nephews collected the containers. I had planned to pick it up tonight, but will leave it thee until 9pm Sunday night. My sister has to have the money counted to turn into the kid's class Monday morning. I'll also bring a countainer back to Bunny's tomorrow, Saturday and leave it there until Sunday night as well. We don't want to inconvience anyone, so my sister or I would be happy to pick up donations as well. I can't wait for the kids to wake up tomorrow! Leslie and Pizzaz gave the one a big blue bottle and $21! Thanks so much you guys! My mom had tears in her eyes when she saw that! |

It sounds like an inside job to me. I can't believe not one person from St. James saw anyone walking out with this bottle. It's not like they could have stuck it in their coat, is it? |

Once, after a meal a Jocelyn's across the street, we went to the Gate for an after dinner drink. We had a wine bag with an unopened bottle of wine with us. When we collected our coats, the wine bag was there, the wine bottle was gone. Someone actually stole it from out of the bag. What is it with people?

Has anyone had a nice long talk with the bar's manager? It seems odd that someone could get away with something like this.... |

I hope whoever stole money from sick children realizes that they're going to get theirs someday. I'll be sure to make a contribution. |

I'd talk to the owners. I'm sure if John knew what happened that he would donate some money to it too. |

CFA No, it's not as if you could have put this under your coat. There is NO WAY, in my opinion, someone could have hid it under a coat. I'm 5'2" and the thing came up to my waste. It was bigger then the coke bottle in Heres2theArts. Case When one of my nephews and I went to pick it up yesterday the same manager who gave us permission to leave it there a few weeks ago was there. I'm going to takegrowler's advice and call and speak with John the owner. Jeff yes, there is still a container in Heres2theArts and one is now back in Bunny's. I also just realized there is still one in Roman Gourmet. And yes, eith my sister brother in law or myself would be glad to pick up donations. Mickey -I agree with you. Wha's with some people! Parott It was kind of sad when the kids said their prayers last night before they went to sleep. They both commented on the stolen money. Their faces lit up when they heard about all the people turning a bad experience into something good. |

Went to Heres2theArts and it's closed until 8 PM when they open for the Oscars party. If you're going to drop off money today go to Roman Gourmet or wait until Art's party tonight. |

Thanks Jeff. I'm so sorry you were inconvienced. Im going to stop by the Arts tonight. Didn't realize there was going to be an Oscars Party! An added comment- My original post was not meant to bash the Gate in any way whatsoever! It was meant to put the person who stole the plastic liquor bottle on enough of a guilt trip they'd return it. It was also hoped maybe someone saw the individual walk out with it, or someone knows someone who brought one home within the past few weeks with no explaination of where it came from. Again my intent was NOT to bash The Gate. |

I was in Philadelphia last weekend, and saw a news report about a string of such thefts in the area. The one that they highlighted was in Trevose. Local liquor stores had some sort of campaign going for kids with cancer (same charity as yours, maybe?). Or maybe it was handicapped kids. They had little change-collection boxes near the cash register. Two women would go into the store. One would distract the clerk while the other took off with the box. They made off with an estimated couple thou all told, I think. Has this been reported to the police? Bucks County isn't so far away that it would be bizarre to think it's the same people. |

Just a thought for JTA... The people pulling this scam probably aren't the type to log onto a community message board and/or easily driven to guilt; but, hey, as Dennis Miller would say, I could be wrong. |

Hi Everyone- My sister says there was a little over $200 between the 4 containers. This doesn't include the $100 from the Elks. Only problem my sister didn't count the money before she dumped the additional money. Leslie and Pizzaz gave my nephew a really cool blue glass bottle to ease the blow of the one that was stolen from that other place. I called AppleBees (where the original bottle came from) and they're trying to get another botle as well. My nephew likes the blue one better then the one that was stolen, so if AppleBees comes up with another, he's going to give it to his brother. Thanks again everyone. When she get's a class and school count I'll let you know the totals. |

Did you or the police check if St James Gate has internal video cameras, that would have caught the person who stole the money? |
