Just out of curiosity, does everyone just accept their PSE&G bill and pay it; or does anyone somehow verify that the bill is accurate (considering that your bill is "actual" and not "estimated")?

I read the meter and verify the meter serial number and the reading.

Given the home and a few business accounts, I have 4 to check, 8 if you include the gas.

I have found errors and have had them corrected. I am currently having a problem where the meter serial number changed and I got hit with a very large bill. I tracked the meter down and it belongs to a print shop.

Currently the meter reader logs are being audited to find out what happened.

I know, too much time on my hands.
