Roll me in your big brass bed"

Likely from the late fifties or early sixties.

Anyone have any ideas????

... I can't get you out of my head?

Well if that's not it, maybe we can write our own lyrics...

You savages. Sounds like misheard Dylan.

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Whatever colors you have in your mind
I'll show them to you and you'll see them shine

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Stay, lady, stay, stay with your man awhile
Until the break of day, let me see you make him smile
His clothes are dirty but his hands are clean
And you're the best thing that he's ever seen

Stay, lady, stay, stay with your man awhile
Why wait any longer for the world to begin
You can have your cake and eat it too
Why wait any longer for the one you love
When he's standing in front of you

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Stay, lady, stay, stay while the night is still ahead
I long to see you in the morning light
I long to reach for you in the night
Stay, lady, stay, stay while the night is still ahead

Duncan

Does this sound like what you're looking for?

"Take me pretty mama, dump me in your big brass bed; Rock me till my face turns cherry red."

P.S. Have you figured out who I am yet?

This is the link to where I found the line I posted. The line is about half way down the page.

And yep I know N an N, but I'm not their mom! Or dad! I told them I'm driving you nuts figuring out who I am.

Just realized when I tested the link it doesn't take you to the page with the line in the funky blue. So.... Go down to the bold 1964 count three paragraphs below 1964 and the line is right below the third paragraph. Hope that's what you're looking for...

I can't tell which song the lyrics are from. It looks like it's either Big Joe Turner or Big Mama Thornton

This help Dunc?

Avery's performance involves several signifying nods to her mentors and models.14 For example, her "sock it to me" line in verse three comes directly from Aretha Franklin's "Respect," one of the most powerful and popular songs of a woman demanding sexual attention and satisfaction from the 1960s. The "ow" in Avery's instrumental solo suggests the final scream of pleasure in Big Mama Thornton's 1975 version of "Rock Me Baby." In verse five, when she sings "Rock me baby until my face turns cherry red," Avery makes a direct reference to Big Joe Turners classic song "Cherry Red." Turner's title phrase in turn becomes a vehicle for the extended call and response verses with which Avery's performance climaxes ("Cherry red [cherry red], cherry re-ED [cherry red]").
