Nick Yemana. On the strength of one episode: When someone (I think it was Wojo) brings in some 'special' brownies. Mushy, Mushy, Mushy. |

Tough to decide. Many great characters. Inspector Lugar and Dietrich come to mind, but I also loved Levitt. The inspector from internal affairs was also very good. Great show. One of the few comedies that's still funny today. |

Barney Miller is on ON Demand under Cable Favorites and then under Tube Time -- they also have Maude, Starsky & Hutch, Different Strokes (my child's favorite), Partridge Family and a few others |

Dietrich had one of the funniest lines ever on that show. An FBI agent was working with them on a case, and after it was solved: AGENT (to Dietrich): You really ought to consider coming to work for the Bureau. DIETRICH: Nah, I could never work for a guy like Hoover. AGENT: But surely you've heard that Mr. Hoover is dead! DIETRICH (smiling): Oh is THAT what they told you... |

I posted it from memory so it may not be exact. Steve Landesberg was a standup comedian before he got that role (still is I suppose) and he was very funny. |
