Why? Is this related to the lawsuit? |

Indirectly it is. One of the charges against MOL is that we don't have a disclosure saying we're not the official town web site. I shouldn't have deleted it. It was a kneejerk bad decision. I've emailed David an apology already. |

davidfrazer - How are you going to run the transportation program without a Supervisor of Transportation Services? I see he/she has been eliminated from the budget. My child rides the special education bus daily. Who will be there to run the department? Don't you think this is an important position? |

It was posted by bto that it is the coordinator of transportation. Hey board members - how do you expect this job to get done? Are the busing of children safely to school important to you? |

they are obviously not thinking about this clearly. It is my understanding that this guy has been doing an excellent job. |

He has always been very helpful and efficient in all of my contacts with him. (My child rides one of those "infamous" Seth Boyden buses ... but leave that for a different thread.) From a human point of view, I hope that he is either due to retire anyway or is being transferred to some other position. But also, as already mentioned, I would definitely be interested in knowing how the transportation responsibilities are expected to be handled in the future, since I don't believe that transportation is being eliminated or significantly reduced in this budget. As mentioned on another thread, I believe that he also has some other, somewhat unrelated responsibilities, but I can't remember what they are. I don't think that this is the area of the administration that most people who are looking for admin cuts were hoping would be targeted. |

The links above aren't coming up on my antique. But why have they been posted without a reminder that the BOE will vote on the budget to be sent to the county education commissioner at its meeting Monday, 7 March? Thus far the interest in the 05-06 budget has been confined to special interest groups concerned about the Clinton principal and middle school French. At the last BOE meeting in the snow, there were perhaps 5 citizens in attendance. Of the BOE candidates only Ms. Wren-Hardin and Mr. Petraccaro showed - other than the incumbents.

David did post the date in the original post, so it's my omission. |

D. Moderator The fact that you pulled df's info so quickly shows how the suit is affecting you. If anyone on this site is consistently fair, well thought out, (but sometimes wrong) and doesn't get caught up in emotion, it's you. As a moderator, you are the best! Remember almost all of us are supportive and will step up if this gets more serious. In my opinion, and with my freedom of speech constitutionally supported, the plaintiffs and harris are turkeys. Keep up the good work. The fact you were forced by the lawsuit to have to go off the air last night is a local security issue, in that your site has become a key notifier of weather, crime or other emergencies to a large group of maplewoodians. |
