What does everyone think about having a separate forum for local musicians? I know this Arts/Entertainment/Dining/Travel forum technically covers it, but I think there is such a great community of musicians in the area that it might be beneficial.(Probably the same could be said for other art forms.) I check this forum many times a week and would love a more involved forum to discuss local bands, offer/get advice on techincal questions, performance tips, great places to play and even business issues.
Just a thought....

I suppose only the site moderator can do this. I also assume he is pretty busy with lawyers right now as well. Think he will see this and comment?

Could it be a bit broader in nature? Maybe simply, "Musicians & Music"?

If we get another 20 posters interested I think we could do it.

IMO I think adding music in general would be fine - where does inspiration come from but from other music? An info on new discoveries, new albums, and shows or reviews are great.

Sounds good to me! I'm always looking to see what's going on around town. Can't beat seeing a live band or jamming with local musicians. I'm in.

"Could it be a bit broader in nature? Maybe simply, "Musicians & Music"? If we get another 20 posters interested I think we could do it."

I’m in favor, and if you want to make it "Broader in Nature", maybe the topic should include an opportunity for Molers to post a critical review of local entertainment activity; ie: The Goat, H2TA, The Gate, and all other local venues, including the Burgdoff and The Paper Mill...

My fiancee, who teases me relentlessly about my MOL addiction, said that he would become a fellow MOL addict if there was a Musicians & Music forum. My vote is YES!

If the "we need 20 interested people" ordinance is taken literally, we still need a few more. Just thought I would bump this to the top of the threads so that it catches everyone's eye. I am excited about the enthusiasm for this idea!

I sure hope this works.
At the VERY LEAST, I'd like to see a forum specifdically dedicated to "Arts"... maybe it's me but it feels funny to logon to a forum where "art" co-exists with "dining" and "travel" in a single place!?!?! These of course have a place of their own but "the arts" should have their dedicated place.
Admin's opinion?

Is the name of this new topic too broad? I think Music should go into it and maybe remove 'entertainment'.
