And much before the 70's... "They spell it B-O-N-O-M-O, Bonomo, oh oh oh, Bonomo Turkish Taffy" or as you catch the last glimpse of the mermaid's tail, just before she fully disappears under the water: "When you shop, get Chicken of the Sea..." or "...H-O Farina, Cream Farina, smooth and delicious, all boys and girls love it so, H-O" or "...candy coated popcorn, peanuts and a prize, that's what you get from Cracker Jack" Do I have too much time on my hands?!?

We all do, apparently And each new jingle makes me think of another one. How about the seven-headed Venusian (?) with "Bit o' Honey goes a long, long way If you have one head it'll last all day!" |

A PSA for cheese ... "cheese glorious cheese, so scrumptious and lucious" and for brushing you teeth ... "they call me yuck mouth cause I don't brush!" -- maybe that wasn't exactly a song. |

Going way back: "I'm just nuts about that Chateau Martin wine..." "Just the other day, I heard a fellow say,'give me Mission Bell wine, because Mission Bell's fine.'" L-A-V-A, L-A-V-A, Lava Soap. "Light up a Lucky, it's light-up time..." |

was it Texaco that Jack Benny did the commercials for? (I sort of remember the song...fill 'er up Jack Benny, fill 'er up...but I only have fifty cents). The Getty gas station attendants marching and whistling the theme from The Bridge on the River Kwai. Mountain Dew..."get that barefoot feeling"...sort of different from their ads today Id say.

Hank: I thought Jack Benny did the Flying A commercials. I think Bob Hope did Texaco.... you can trust your car to the man who wears the star.... the red texaco star! |

I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony. (Lots of words I don't remember!) I'd like to buy the world a Coke, and keep it company......it's the real thing, etc.

Not sure if this was posted: Schaffer is the one beer to have when you are having more than one, the most rewarding flavor in this man's world, (don't remember the rest).

for people who are having fun... my favorite was the young fresh faced rookie beer truck driver...and all the older weathered drivers get him up on the barrel to sing the jingle...and he's got this great tenor voice and theyre sitting there weeping. Then they went to..."come into the Schaefer Circle" And yes Mark..I remember Bob Hope even wearing a Texaco hat and maybe jumpsuit in a commercial for Texaco. Remembered another PSA (without a jingle)...the rubella umbrella Probably the worst product name and ad and perhaps product itself, although I never used it..."Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific"

Hank: somehow I get the feeling we must be very close in age... I can't remember the tune, but I do remember during every yankee broadcast the ballantine beer commercials.... ballantine, ballantine, ballantine ale.
