Quentin's got nothing on Takeshi Kitano for a good bloodletting (with an interesting story-line, humor & dance numbers). IMDB link |

I don't know Takeshi Kitano, but have you seen Peter Jackson's early films, including Bad Taste and Dead Alive? They are incredibly gory, especially the latter. But they are also funny. My favorite scene from Dead Alive is the Kung Fu fight between the priest and the zombies. The priest says "I kick for the Lord" before kicking off a zombie's arms, legs, and head. It sound disgusting, but it is really funny. |

Seton Hall is featuring Zatoichi in their "Multicultural Film & Lecture Series" for free on April 6 at 6pm in the Walsh Library. The day before they will be showing Kurosawa's "Rhapsody in August" (w/ richard gere). Both are definitely worth seeing. (Also: Jonathan Franzen, author of The Corrections, will be at SHU on 4/7 at 7pm at Walsh Library.)

You've got to be kidding! Another Friday the 13th? What is this number 37? I remember going to see the first one while I was still in high school! Wasn't parts of some of them filmed at a camp in Sussex County? |

You heard it here last folks... Quentin in Entertainment Weekly: "Whats happening with Friday The 13th? Nothing at all! Its a complete lie," he told Empire [Magazine]. "I like Jason and everything, but I've no intention of directing a movie! New Line talked to me about it, but it was a complete fabrication, that article. I would love to do a horror film. I'm just saying it's not going to be Friday the 13th."

Wait till LibraryLady (or, as she's known to her fellow posters at the Argosy/Soldier of Fortune Chat Room, "Old Blood N Guts") hears about this!

Looks like Quentino's next directorial title will be Inglorious Bastards.
quote:Synopsis: During the time of WWII, U.S. soldiers who are about to be executed, are offered a chance at reprieve. Despite some rumors, this film is not a remake of the 1977 Bo Svenson movie also titled Inglorious Bastards
