We found a loose dog in our neighbors yard...young shepard mix, female, no collar, friendly but skittish. We live on Oakview Ave (above Prospect) our back neighbor is on Courter. She seems very healthy and has a good appetite for biscuits. Hopefully we will find her family.

Have you tried calling JAC? Sometimes people who have lost their pets leave their name and phone number with them. Someone else found a lost dog this morning.

Yes, I've also left the info with the Maplewood police.

I've gotten her to take food from my hand and she came in our basement little by little, but she got really scared when my husband tried to shut the door and she bolted out howling. I think she might be a stray. She's extremely nervous. There's no way she's coming near us anymore so we put a large dog crate outside and covered it with a tarp and rugs to block any wind. She's got lots of blankets, food and water.

I also don't think she's really a shepard mix now that I got up close. She's certainly 100% mutt...perhaps with some hound dog. She's got a black back, tan sides and underparts, tan face, and a white tip on her black tail. She's has a bit of a howl within her barks...and is very vocal.

Amy:

Can you post a picture of the dog? There are several regular posters who live on Oakview and Courter between Prospect and Oakland. One of us may recognize the dog.

We need a Found Lost Pet Topic. At least once a week someone's lost found a pet. Hope you find the owner.

Has anyone in your neighborhood moved recently? I was at the vet's this afternoon and a woman was telling the story of how she ended up with the cat she brought in. Seems her neighbor moved and left the cat behind. People like that annoy me!

People like that do a bit more than annoy me. And I think it happens quite a bit.

Evil is what they are.

My friend has two kitties someone left behind. A really nice person from MOL had taken them in but they didn't get along with her kitties.

People can be so, what's the word (fill in the blank)sometimes. Domestica nimals depend on us to take care of them.

A few years ago one of my friends took in a 10 year old cat one of his neighbors left behind. This was a cat who spent all their life indoors. Even worse, in was Mich in the dead of the winter.

amy is she almost a small collie? There used to be one that lived over on Prospect and Elmwood that got loose all the time. I haven't seen her in awhile, but might be the same dog.

Amy:

How is the dog doing? Any word on finding it's human companion?
