Just heard "Do You Believe In Magic" on the radio. It has one of the all time classic lyrics "it's like tryin' to tell a stranger about rock and roll" |

My nephew's are driving me nuts signing the Googoo Dolls remake of "Give a Litle..." Or whatever it's title is. I think stations like PLJ ans Z100 are bringing back a lot of the songs from long ag. I heard "Do you Believe in Magic" on 106.7 about a week ago. |

John B. Sebastian wrote lots of great lines, and not all of the simple pop-rock-hook variety. His lyrics have a great sense of natural rhythm--if you read them apart from the music they almost write the music themselves. |

Hey, Pop, my girlfriend's only three She's got her own videophone and she's taking LSD And now that we're best friends, she wants to give a bit to me What's the matter, Daddy? How come you're turning green? Can it be that you can't live up to your dreams? How prophetic that was, and written DURING the 60s. Great song. |

She's a Lady Give her time cause she's allowed to change her mind The Spoonful are one of my favorite bands. It's a real shame that Sebastion has almost totally lost that great voice of his. Anyone looking for a great CD, get NRBQ live at th Wax Museum. Half the CD is NRBQ doing their "thing" and the other half is them backing up Sebastion on Spoonful tunes. They do an incredible job backing him up. Supposedly Zal Yanovsky (RIP) heard the Q and told Sebastion that he hadda play with them. |

In keeping with the Costello Theme... She looked like she learned to dance from a series of still pictures She's madly excited now, she throws her hands up like a tulip She looks like an illustration of a cocktail party Where cartoon bubbles burst in the air, champagne rolls off her tongue Like a second language

this song was being sung around the house this morning...in some semblance of Cockney accents... There was I, waiting at the church, Waiting at the church, waiting at the church; When I found he'd left me in the lurch. Lor, how it did upset me! All at once, he sent me round a note Here's the very note, this is what he wrote: "Can't get away to marry you today, My wife, won't let me!"
