The question is still unanswered, and that question is:

In early March,The Columbia High School Administration called the police as a response to a lunchroom fight. The student was arrested, or removed.
Is calling the police to Columbia High School a change in policy, or was it due to special circumstances?
In this thread's predecessor several posters asked for a yes/no answer. No response.
On 3/7, at a CHS meeting, it appeared that there was a new zero tolerance policy. And a new question was posted here: Is there a zero tolerance policy, and if so, was it communicated to the CHS community?

On 3/8, poster C Bataille made a terrific point about enforcement of zero tolerance policies by school districts, pointing out the dumb enforcement of literal interpretation of rules.

Thread drift finally led to the demise of the original thread by a very patient web master who finally and rightly enforced a zero tolerance policy due to a few posters who just don't get it.

Let's try again.

Admin, Bd of Education, El Super, is there a new policy?

I am pleased that the "web master" shut down the thread that had become an outlet for a personal feud.

Now, Reflective, Are you optimistic about getting an answer?

Has someone tried to call the BOE for an answer? I looked on the district's website, but couldn't find anything.

anon:

maybe, just maybe the question will be asked to the incumbent candidates, and a follow-up to the non incumbents as to whether or not there should be a policy.
