I'm planning a wedding (mine) for May 14 in the upstairs room at the Maplewood Woman's Club and need to find people to provide music for the ceremony and small reception (both in the same room). I'd like classical for the pre-ceremony time, starting at 4:30 for about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes, of either strings or piano, though by "piano" I guess I mean it would have to be an electronic keyboard as I don't think there's room for a piano in the room and don't know how one would be procured. Then I'd like quiet jazz to kick in immediately post-ceremony, and last for the cocktail and dinner hours, from 5-8 pm. There won't be dancing, except for maybe by some kids, one of whom (mine, a 6-year-old) would love to hear a little Dixieland. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears. Thanks! |

Try contacting Miriam Hyer - she's the organist at Immaculate Heart in Maplewood, but I know she's played for weddings and/or cocktail hours. |

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I am an organist and pianist and have played dozens of weddings. I own portable keyboards, so that is not an issue. For the reception, I have some contacts who can provide jazz. They are terrific. Send me a PM if interested. |
