My new work, Time Capsules I for solo piano, will be premiered on April 3, 2005 at 8pm in Merkin Concert Hall in NYC. Merkin is located right near Lincoln Center (about 2 blocks away). The pianist will be Donald Dolan. He is also playing the Copland Piano Variations, as well as some Beethoven, Debussy, and Liszt. The concert is sponsored by Artists International. Tickets are $23 each. Please let me know if you are interested. It should be a great concert! |

Congrats John.... BTW - the title "Time Capsules" has already been used by Brian Ferneyhough... but I am sure that you were aware of that. Perhaps your title was a tribute to ol' Brian? PS: When are your percussion ensemble works going to be played? |

thanks magma and ajc! magma: Yes - I did know of Brian Ferneyhough's "Time Capsules". However, I used Andy Warhol's Time Capsules as inspiration for this piece. And thanks for asking about my percussion music. Yes, I will have some performances, but not in this area. The Iowa State Percussion Ensemble (Barry Larkin, dir.) is playing THANATOS soon, as is Studio Percussion Graz in Graz, Austra. I apologize for not sending the score to you - I will do it soon. Cheers!

Best of luck with the performance, Composerjohn. I have two gigs that day/night, but would love to hear the piece. I hope the show is recorded. I will also be in touch again soon about the modern chamber music series for this fall. |

Hey John, If I ever get the scores (hint hint), I would love to look them over and see if we can get a local percussion ensemble to perform some of them. Hey JazzMe.... do you read music? Interested? |

Methinks there could be room in the chamber music series for some percussion pieces. Hmm... |

I have done so. Also, I have a need for some young sexy string players (honestly, who doesn't?) for an immediate project that I describe in the email. Anybody else who can recommend some violinists or violists who sound great and like funky modern music, please PL me. |
