I'm proud to share news that the newly-formed South Orange-Maplewood Committee to Stop The War has announced events for March 19 and 21:

March 19, 11-2, Ricalton Square, Maplewood Village
The South Orange-Maplewood Committee to Stop the War organizes a day of "Patriot Acts" to mark the second anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. The event will feature a family-friendly display of Patriotic opposition to the war, including a 12:30 address by "Uncle Sam".

March 21, 7:30-9, Maplewood Library (Memorial Hall)
The South Orange-Maplewood Committee to Stop the War will present a community forum titled: "A New Iraq? The Untold Story of Human Rights Abuses" given by Widney Brown, Deputy Program Director of Human Rights Watch.

About SOMA Stop The War:

The South Orange-Maplewood Committee to Stop the War (SOMA Stop The War) is a grass-roots anti-war organization formed in January 2005 by citizens of South Orange and Maplewood, N.J. to oppose the U.S. war in Iraq.

We seek to build a broad-based movement of like-minded individuals who are willing to take bold and creative action to end the war, and to promote peace and justice.

We are committed to challenging the worldview that led to the debacle in Iraq and to creating democratic accountability in U.S. foreign and domestic policy.
