So Mr. Ebbers was found guilty on 9 counts. He will get his sentence Mid June and be sent to prison for the rest of his life. He is freee on bail till then? ! Three last months... How would you use/spend them? |

Can I leave the country? If so, I'd take my family on a trip across Europe or maybe I'd just hang out at home with them and get in as much day to day life as I could. The picture of his wife crying in this morning's paper really struck me. His poor family. |

I think I'd probably disappear too. It's sad to even think about. I can't imagine. |

I would pay some snakehead to sneak me into China, where I would open a small restaurant on the banana-pancake trail in Yunnan. |

Where in the world did you get the information that he is going to be sent to prison for life? That is simply not true. Moreover, if he really were facing mandatory life without parole, he would not be out on bail. Am I missing something whimsical here? Plenty of good people have their lives cut short by illness. Why feel sorry for this guy? |

He did not get a life sentence; due to his age (63) it is likely that he will be in prison the rest of his life. |

I haven't managed to muster up any sympathy for him or his ilk. |

I agree with Tom. And I've been guilty of the "advanced lurker" syndrome by not giving my opinion: he should spend his last months working a full-time minimum-wage job paying all earnings to some sort of restitution fund. And his sentence should be an eye for eye deal: one day for each lost day of retirement for the investors.

I would go the hookers and fine cheeses route. He should have enough money to get some high class chicks, and some upper crust cheese. Three months of that, you go to jail happy and fat. |
