California has more than 500 inmates on death row. The average time from conviction to execution is over 15 years and apparently increasing. More death row inmates have died from natural causes than from execution. Scott Peterson, will be joining the group shortly. In theroy I don't have a problem with the death penalty. However, it tends to be handed out unevenly from county to county in a given state, there are a lot of people on death row who are innocent (see Illinois as an example) and it costs a small fortune to administer. Give 'em life I say, give 'em life with no parole and let them rot in their cells until the day they die I say.

Everyone can say "Scott Peterson should die." That case is a slam dunk. It's the weakest cases you have to justify in order to be a death penalty supporter. I think this is fascinating, though, that Jews were being kept of juries. It just shows the political nature and the divisiveness of the whole issue. |

Are you kidding? When did they mention the juries were Jewish? And, besides that, being on death row, is not the same as being in jail for life without parole. Killing is wrong, I agree., in the sense it is done with no probable cause. The death penalty is "punishment" and those that are waiting will wait a long time, but I am sure they know the differance between the two. They know that we are thinking that they deserve to have the same treatment. In a philosophical sense, for them to die, would be put them in a place where they might not be as comforted, if you believe in the after-life. If you don't, then perhaps they are doing them a benefit. Time will tell.Noone has come back and said there is a heaven or a hell..and those that have had minutes of death have only said they have seen a "light" , so your guess is as good as mine. |

'When did they mention the juries were Jewish?' Huh? Did you read the article? "Case Stirs Fight on Jews, Juries and Execution"
