If you think the press is left-wing, tell me why hundreds of thousands of world-wide protests today, in small towns and big cities, are being ignored in the media. Please explain.

Not ignored. NY Times reports: 350 people march in NYC.

It's all over the Internet. They made headlines on AlJazeera.net and the western wing of AlJazeera, CNN, even carried stories.

Analog:
BBC, that commie rag, just announced that there were 45,000 demonstrators in Athens, many in Rome and London.
Oh, and BTW, the press is not even the press anymore, so calling it left wing is moot.

because more people support the war than oppose it. Look at the results of this election. It was a referundum on the war and guess who lost. Your poor excuse for a party.

You're on the wrong side of history.

I bet you still think Regan was wrong for putting "peacekeepers" in europe.

How could the Presidential election have been a referendum on the war when both candidates had the same position?

...excuse me, what war are we talking about? The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are over.

Are all these people around the world protesting the war on terror? They can't be protesting our peace keepers, can they?

The War in Iraq is over?

Tell that to the families of the soldiers dying there.

Did they take a moment to protest the UN's sexual predations of the Congo as well as other missions that the UN itself acknowledges did occur since the 90s while at the same time calling for the UN to take over the New Iraq? Please advise.

Well they didn’t exactly capitulate, but yes Anon, our War in Iraq is over! The people of Iraq are now in charge of their own future.

We have been reducing our troops and as more of their new troops are trained we'll continue to send our own men and women home. BTW, anyone calling for the UN to take over the New Iraq is literally looking to screw those poor people...

"our war in Iraq is over"

Well, things are trending favorably, but I wouldn't break out the champagne just yet. Moreover, troop reductions based on a handover of security functions to Iraqis have not yet happened.

In any event, if it is truly the case that our goal is to establish an elected government in Iraq and then go home, we have a chance of getting out. If our goal was to establish a permanent presence military presence in Iraq, then we are in for a rough ride.

If the Iraqis want us to have a permanent military base in Iraq, I'm all for it. We lost our base in Saudi Arabia. Troops now are in Qatar and I believe the Fifth Fleet is based in Oman.

We didn't "lose" our base in Saudi Arabia. We left because of bin Laden's threats and actions. (Echoes of Beruit.)

We left Saudi Arabia at the request the Royal Family and because Saddam was no longer a threat to the country.

If we ran because of Bin Laden , it would not have taken us two years.
