I just walked past Mr. Good Lube across from the Hilton Library and Wyman Ford and they have closed that location. I can't imagine what could go there without opening the same type of business or tearing the whole thing down and starting from scratch. |

Actually a lot of gas station type buildings get recycled. The Ricardi wall paper building use to be a gas station and the Town Hall Deli in SO is planning, maybe, to reopen in the old Midas Muffler building on Valley across from the liquor store. Also, the jewelry store on the corner of Ridgewood Rd. and Millburn Avenue in Millburn was a gas station. I am pretty sure the animal hospital across the street is also a conversion, but will not swear to that one. |

I wonder if another garage type place would open because they are also right across the street from Maplewood Tire that also does oil changes and maintenance and just opened a Car Detailing operation. Maybe they just weren't getting the business. |

The old gas station for sale on Irvington Avenue (kinda across the street from Other Mothers and the car wash) is disgusting and ugly. I wish someone would buy the property and do something with it. Anything would be better. Does anyone know how much it is selling for? (not that I want to buy it - just curious) |

Mr. Good Lube closed because the owner of the chain (who lives in NJ) was arrested for some kind of serious tax fraud stuff. It was in the paper a few months ago. I think it is nice to see a reduction of car service places on Springfield Avenue because there have always been so many and at least there is the opportunity for something new. Like the Orange Mattress place going into the place near Indiana St. Mr. Good Lube is a nice location, next to the library. I'd vote for a Stewart's - Yum root beer! I saw that a banner had gone up at Sunflower Spa for a new yoga place - that seems pretty cool. So while one auto business goes out on S.A. another new trendy business comes in. |

From what I hear, the new yoga place is going to be fantastic - a boutique section, as well as offerings of holistic practices like massage (real massage!) in addition to yoga. |

Not surprised. Their service sucked. When back after an oil change when my "check engine" light came on. Guy at the store basically said it wasn't his problem. Once I started copying down his name and the phone number to call for complaints he suddenly had a change of heart. Never went back again.

I noted that the sign for the Sunflower Spa is gone and the paper Yoga sign is up, the 99 cent store looks ready to open, Stories in Motion is all but open, and Bumper to Bumper tells me that he is moving out and this his place will be removed and something will be built in place along with the old gas station. Wow, stuff is changing on Springfiled Avenue. |

Is Bumper to Bumper moving somewhere else? They may be an eyesore, but they're competent and reasonably priced. |

I think the town should tear the branch library down and build another Irish Pub, then use the Mr. Good Lube space for overflow parking... |

Yes, I'm told that Bumper to Bumper has a new building lease. I think he said the old Midas building. Where ever that is. Ask Ray.

Wait a minute. Isn't the old Midas building where Town Hall Deli is supposed to be? Or am I getting my automotive buildings confused? |

Good Lube's service was crap and I'm glad to see them gone. One can only hope they follwed all the correct hazadous waste removal laws during the time they were in operation. As for a Stewarts, there was supposed to be one opening on Morris Ave in Union but I dont think it ever happened. Also the gas station on irvington ave across from "Other mothers" and the car wash was at one time going to be a roy rogers (I'm talking late middle to late 80's here before that it was an exxon if I'm not mistaken) |

Walked by Primo Pizza and Bumper to Bumper today. There must have been 20 men working in the new Stories in Motion store. The windows are open and signs indicate that classes start in two weeks. Is this a kids place or will adults be served as well? Anyone know? |

Stories in Motion has been mostly a kids dance place, but the spring calendar lists a couple of different classes for adults in the evening. You can find the schedule somewhere on www.storiesinmotion.org
