Hey Duncan, those are great. Did you take the pics yourself, or get them from a website, put up more-put up more. Are there larger images available? |

Unbelievable. What city is this? I can't imagine this person doesn't have a "career" and the sidewalks are just a hobby. Although the laptop looks suspiciously like a paid advertisement. This stuff is just too amazing. Especially the one with the guys on thier knees.

Great, thanks. reminds me of Europe, and walking around some of the bigger cities, artists doing chalk drawings everywhere.... Meandtheboys, you are correct, the laptop was paid for, along with some election related drawings the artist did. A little Google here, and a little Google there, brought me to the artists website where you can see some more of his work, and get a little info on the artist too. The artists name is Julian Beever, http://users.skynet.be/J.Beever/pave.htm

Throw out any large pieces. Pour flour and hot water and 1 tablespoon of eggshell powder in another bowl. Mix until mixture looks like paste. Add food colouring now if you'd like. Shape and press the paste into the shape of chalk sticks. Roll up tightly in a strip of paper towel and allow to dry for about three days. *This chalk is only good for sidewalks. Sidewalk Chalk Ingredients: 2 cups water 2 cups plaster of Paris 2 tablespoons wet or dry tempera paint toilet paper tubes duct tape Method: Use duct tape to cover one end of each toilet paper tube. Mix all ingredients and set aside for 5 minutes. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper or foil. Place tubes upright on paper with open end facing up. You might want to tabe the tubes upright onto the wax paper or foil to make it more steady. Pour mixture into holders. Leave standing until chalk mixture is almost firm. Rip off the toilet paper tubes and let the sidewalk chalk dry for about 2 more hours. } |

Thanks for the link to the artist's site Monster. I particularly love the "wrong" view. It's a science and and art! Guess the people on the street seeing it from the "wrong" view must wonder why anyone would want to take a picture! |
