Today, my dog and I were in front of my house. A guy yelled "Hi Tom" from his truck. I didn't know him. Now I know he was eyespy.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I had dinner with las last night (but we've known each other for while, so I don't know if that counts). Also saw mem at Pierson's Mill on Saturday with her robust little nephew (but I've known her for a while too).

The four VIGs and Mr. Vig saw Dave leaving Bunny's last night. We were celebrating Vig2's 10th birthday at Ariyoshi & Cold Stone.

Mayor McCheese passed me on my walk home in a car and didn't offer me a ride. That's my big MOL meeting.

I will say that the thought of Tom and Eyespy meeting is an amazing MOL thought. Eyespy is a favorite poster of mine. And of course Tom is an Icon of MOL.

Whenever I meet someone from MOL they never look what I thought they would look like.

I spotted Strawberry and Alg at Bunny's. Then VIG walking w/family toward Ariyoshi. And I ran into Monster at the movies in the afternoon and at Dessert Moon before the movies. Wait, we went there together. And saw Ms Monster during the donut incident. Two cars beeped and waved to me. Not sure who they were, but I waved back. And I need to get some work done today.

I saw Dave at the Underground concert last Saturday night, but I don't think he saw me. His mom was there too. And, of course, Jamie.

BTW, "run-in" sort of has a negative connotation for me, no? When I first saw the thread title I though Tom had gotten in a fight!

Last Sunday as I entered Cait & Abby's to acquire a loaf of rye bread for some DIY sloppy joes, whom should I run into but MHD and his adorable little daughter, sitting at a table near the window, nibbling muffins, sipping tea (dad) & bottled chocolate Quik (kid), and watching South Orange parade by...

MHD was multitasking as usual, chatting civilly with me while famously wearing his "NO TAXES FOR TAU" T-shirt.

While that touching little domestic moment almost made me lose my apetite, I nonetheless managed to buy the bread, return home, and create some masterpiece sammiches for myself & my own adorable daughter.

-s.

BTW: C&A slices its loaves of bread in only one thickness, and makes no apologies for being so inflexible. A real bakery should cater to the customer just a tad more, I think.

Yep, Joan and I spoke. In case anyone doubts Joan (never!). I got off at South Orange instead of Maplewood and hoisted a few at Bunny's (as well as eating the delicious bar pizza they have for happy hour). I sat next to the lovely Bunny/Mrs. Pizzaz herself, spoke with Mrs. Monster and saw Matt Foley there as well. Although Bunny and Mrs. Monster don't post, I think that's close enough to warrant a mention.

Talk about 6 degrees of seperation...
After dropping off the sons at their games and practices about 5:20ish and heading back to a job on Tuscan Rd, I noticed a very Wendyish looking character on Baker and Valley. I turn to the DH next to me in the car and say, isn't that Wendy? you know SoAndSo's mom who plays AllStars with our son? Yup, it was. Then 20 minutes later Mrs. Monster shows up at my job on Tuscan, (because I couldn't make it to Bunnys for the free pizza and invited her over to see the landscaping job I am doing)I asked her who was there. She says to me, I think Wendy. I says I think I just saw Wendy and she says that Wendy took the train from SO to MW at that time. Next conversation, Mrs. Monster is talking with my new client, Wonderdog, and they actually worked for the same company in Atlanta at the same time back in the day. More to follow...

Based on some things my sister told me were discussed at a game I didn't go to (hey it was the Litle River Band or the Game) I'm pretty sure the dad of another player on my nephew's baseball team is a poster on MOL. My sister won't tell me who it is though.

The boys will both be playing on All Star Teams - one on an 'A' the other 'B' team. I can just see wht my summer will be like as they play something like three games a week and not just South Orange snd Msplewood either. I spoke to Joan Crystal earlier tonight. And after reading BGS's post in another thread about her daughter sending the flowers I'm thinking it must of been her I was speaking with earlier this afternon about the tape because the person I spoke to told me a similar story.

JTA...
I have an 11 year old B player and a 13 year old A player. I look at AllStars as daycamp for my kids. They do play 3 games a week plus at least 2 practices. Which is why I have become the Supreme Tailgater since most games start at 6pm and we do travel. What teams are your nephews on?
Keep an eye out for the BBQ and Mojitos.

My nephews are both 10, will be 11 in Aug. I'll ask my sister when they come back from the shore Sunday what teams they are on. It was a nightmare when the coach called to tell her. I'll post the story over the weekend. It's going to take a lot of scrambling, but we will work it out.

This is their first year on the All Stars. My sister wouldn't let them join the other years. It took a lot to convince her to even let them try out; but coaches for the teams they've played on kept suggesting they try out. Hopefully some of their games overlap because I do not want to go to six games a week. I know it sounds selfish, but I've been to most of their baseballs games since they've moved here.

When the school they go to brought back the 5th grade basketball team this past school year they joined. I went to all those games as well.

I ran into Mr. & Mrs. Monster (and little monster) at a recent Tball game. Monster looked at me and said, "You look familiar." I had to remind him that I sold him a computer a year or so ago.

Other than VIG - I'm not aware of any other MOLers that I see on a regular basis.

I have seen Mr. T several times, right in front of his house, during my regular 4-mile walk around town. Both times I've said hello, and both times I've gotten that look you get when someone is saying hello because you obviously know them, but they have absolutely no clue who you are. Previous to these "encounters" I met him at 2 different MOL face-to-face events, the last one being las' party, where we spoke for more than just a few minutes, particularly about his alleged nicknames for certain private parts! Guess I'm not as memorable as I like to think I am? Or there are a lot of random women around town who say hi to Mr. T in front of his house?

Anyway, last time I finally enlightened him as to my "identity." I think I saw the light bulb go on!

The biggest MOL encounter in recent memory was at the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday morning. I saw so many MOLers helping start the parade at the Lot, marching in the parade (wouldn't be surprised if there was at least one with each group that participated), watching the parade from the sidelines, participating in the ceremony, watching the ceremony, photographing the event, etc. There really are too many to mention here.

Thanks to everyone for participating/helping.

Tom R, I've finally found the courage to say - I've been inviting Library Lady to coem for a visit for years and she keeps turnign me down (some excuse about work and children...). I haven't given up yet, but I suspect that many MOLers don't think I am real, let alone really here HOWLONG, NSW 146.6°E 36.0°S 140m

Boo hoo...to think somewhere there's a Tiki Bar and I can't pop in on a Saturday Night and say Hi...
