If you haven't signed on with one of them, it is unlikely you will be getting service as a newcomer. After last years heavy snowstorms, there were groups of guys that were soliciting work shoveling drives and walks. Hopefully, you live on a street that has enough foot traffic to spot one of them. We did that for a few years before finally getting a snowthrower. Last year that machine came in very handy.
