I believe that the United States of America in the year 2004 is the Greatest Country in The History of the World.

In order to preserve out greatness I believe that every citizen ought to follow the various campaigns for President, become informed, get involved in some way, and most of all vote on Election Day.

We may not agree each to the other on every issue, but at least in the USA we have the right to disagree with each other without recrimination and to even disagree with our elected officials.

In the year 2000 this country elected Republican George W. Bush to be President. If you disagree with the job that "W" has done then please support one of the nine Democratic candidates or a third party candidate. If you agree that "W" has done a good job then, please, join me in supporting him for reelection.

Personally, I have gone to www.georgewbush.com and committed to be a Team Leader and :

Recruit 5 other Team Leaders
Sign Up 10 Friends
Help Register 10 Voters
Call Talk Radio
and Write Letters to the Editor

I also ordered some "cool stuff" like bumper stickers, a lawn sign, a ball cap, buttons, and a T-shirt.

Why? Because I believe that Our Commander In Chief has done an outstanding job with international affairs and that President Bush has revitalized the economy.

I will be working with Christie Whitman and the NJ GOP to assure that President Bush wins New Jersey and the White House again.

The first time I saw George W. Bush was at Harvard Business School in 1975 when we were each in attendance. The last time I saw the President was on June 16, 2003 in Elizabth, New Jersey when he announced his Small Business Initiative. I hope that he will be in New Jersey early and often during this campaign season. I know that he will be in NYC for the convention this summer.

Please join me in working to reelect President George W. Bush. Well thought out and heartfelt comments on this thread are invited. Persons wishing to work on the campaign are invited to private line me or to go to "W" 's campaign website referred to above.

Remember, this is America, and only we can keep it great!

Dearest Eduardo,

Let's not tell a lie here: George Bush was not elected by this country in 2000. He was selected by the Supreme Court after Jeb and Ms. Harris made a mockery of the state of Florida.

Bush won the election fair and square. As for Florida....Florida embarrassed itself by the actions if it's own Supreme Court. They had two chances to get it right, and the US Supreme Court finally said "yo time is up."

Bush also won because Gore had a lame legal and election team, in addition to the fact that Bush won every recount that was done -- by FL, the newspapers, everyone.

I may disagree with Mr. May's choice of candidate, and how to view the record of this administration, but at least Mr. May presents his views in a positive way.

Ed

So the Republican Party is now Amway? It figures they would adopt the strategy of a pyramid scheme to secure votes. All power flows up, and those on the bottom get cheated in the end.

Sbenois,
In the immortal words of Garth (from Wayne and Garth fame), "Live in the now!"

Let it go. Bush was elected fair and square. Maybe if Gore carried his own damn state you wouldn't need to believe that the Court helped Bush.

Unfortunately, I think Ed will get his wish. I don't have the same opinion of Bush, in fact I think he is the biggest embarrassment of a President this country has ever had (and that includes Tricky Dicky-who was Dangerous more than embarrassing).

Bush has the masses just where he wants em-SCARED and he's going to play that card to the hilt right through November. I hope I'm wrong, but I think the Democrats blew it this time.

There's gonna be a lot of cleaning up to do in 4 years.

Gore lost and he will never be President. EVER!

Bush won because god wanted him to lead this nation against those who seek to destroy it.

THAT'S WHY I WANT TO TAKE THIS MOMENT AND THANK JESUS FOR ALL HE'S DONE SINCE THE TWO-THOUSAND ELECTION..

(and yes, Jesus was a guy)

It's not nonsense, tom. Bush won every recount that was done -- both officially and unofficially. That Gore was going to recount and recount and change the criteria of what constituted a vote for Gore until he won was the issue that shut down the whole Florida mess --- which was Florida's mess. Democrats ran those precincts -- the biggest one Theresa LaPore, and the FL Supremes embarrassed themselves twice.

There's more spoiled ballots and faulty precinct operations in Chicago than there are in Florida anyway. No one howls about it there from the democrat side because 1) they run things in Chicago and 2) as long as they keep winning, there's no reason to complain.

It's all so obvious.

cjc,

Arguing with Tom over the election is like arguing over who won the world series. The marlins won and so did Bush. It's an arguement you can never lose.

cjc, read the link. Half of the recount scenarios listed are for Gore. So when you say, "Bush won every recount that was done -- both officially and unofficially," you are wrong. It's right there in black-and-white.

But hey, Jesus himself called straw on his cellphone and told him that Bush should be president. So why have the election at all?

But you just go on telling yourself nobody cares...

tom, I'm talking about the recounts in the counties that were requested by Gore. Gore never requested a state-wide recount because he wasn't interested in the will of the people, he was only interested in the will of the people who would concievably allow him to win (see: stupid legal and election team). The recounts that were performed in the counties requested gave Bush the victory EVERY TIME. Even the stupid Supreme Court scenarios if applied statewide would have given Bush the victory.

Furthermore, you have to bend and change various criteria to allow Gore to win. From someone who's against Bush's rationale for going to war with Iraq on the faulty premise that Bush didn't include humanitarian and other myriad concerns justifying that action, you of all people shouldn't give that approach any credence.

For Gore, it's all shoulda/woulda/coulda. You're hanging on a bunch of "if" -- and 'if' is for children.
