--it would be helpful if there some way in which an advertizer could either delete their own classified post or mark the post "item sold" so others would know it was no longer available. Can this be done? -- I was looking for the same function myself and finally figured out that you can EDIT the message so I replaced the $PRICE with "SOLD" which was the best solution I could come up with :-)

Hi. My name is Brad Abelle. I'm relatively new to Maplewood. I'm a trailers narrator and I'm interested in meeting colleagues in broadcasting. Any folks in Maplewood involved with on-air promotion, syndication or trailers production? My e mail is phonepatch@aol.com. I've met a lot of writers and musicians, but not a lot of broadcasters. I look forward to chatting with you. Thanks. Brad |

Hi, Brad, & welcome to town! You might want to post your query in another (more highly trafficked) folder, though I'm stumped as to which one would best fit your particular subject. Please help? Virtual Cafe? Work? Anyone else have any ideas on which would be the best venue for Brad's query? |

Dave: I would like to propose that a boxing gloves icon be added to the fine collection of faces which can be used to indicate the tone of individual thread topics. I would further suggest that this icon be used to depict threads which have gotten way too abusive, full of personal attacks, and/or verbaly violent. This would enable those of us with gentler sensibilities to scroll past such threads without having to become upset by the means with which their present participants are failing to communicate. |

Scenario: a topic is begun that seems like it's non-controversial, but then becomes so. There's no function to change the topic's icon with the software we're using. |

There sure are not many suggestions in the box... FWIW, I suggest anyone looking here for a good suggestion, go check out the Soapbox thread named, "Selfish Drivers in front of Kings".... |

Alissa, the place to post this question is in the "please help" section; I'm sure you'll get lots of replies there. Good luck!!! |

I have received a request to start up a "Parenting" section. You know, sharing advice on where to buy the best designer sippy cups, what type of stomach ailment is making its way around town, where to find a babysitter at 4:00pm on Friday for that night, etc. Any interest in this? |

Dave- I foresee the parenting section turning into Soapbox Parenting. Better to leave questions about parenting in Please Help. IMHO. |

I invite working parents to our mailing list. To join, visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/somwp, devoted to working parents in South Orange and Maplewood. It is decidedly not soapboxish. We're all very mutually supportive. |

DAVE I WAS THINKING OF HAVING A FRIEND OF MINE CONTRIBUTE HIS 25 YEARS OF LAWN AND GARDEN EXPERTISE TO THE SITE. MORE LIKE A Q & A SECTION FOR HOMEOWNERS. KIND OF LIKE "ASK JEEVES." WHAT DO YOU THINK? |

He's welcome to use the Home-Fixit section (which should be called home & garden). |

I love this BB. I just joined and am looking forward to becoming a part of the family. Quick question for you, though - do you need to display my full name when I post? Is there a way to hide my last name? Thanks so much..... Jay |

Go to "edit profile", login, change the "full name" field to whatever you like, and save. |
