Greetings, all! After about two years of looking for a house in Maplewood and Westchester, my wife and I finally made a decision (delay mostly my fault) and are in the process of closing on our first house. If all goes well, we'll be Maplewood residents come April 1st. Soon, I will be making the calls to get the utilities for the house and was wondering if there is another entity besides PSE&G that can deliver natural gas to the house. In NYC, Keyspan is the dominat player, but consumers can choose other companies. All help will be very much appreciated. | ||

Welcome, Katracho! My Maplewood home is also the first home I owned and also the first house I ever lived in. We moved in in June 2003, so I do know your excitement! We got gas from Total Gas for a while, but they ended up being more expensive than PSE&G, so we switched after a while. UPDATE: on new places to drink. Since the discussion here in January, I've been to Papillon a few times. Of course, it's not as crowded as SJG but it's intimate, friendly and the Happy Hour prices can't be beat. I haven't eaten in the restaurant part but have ordered bar food at the bar and it's GOOD! | ||

Hello, fellow Maplewoodians... Finally, I am officially a Maplewoodian myself(Maplewooder?)... transplanted from Queens. My wife and I closed on our new home last week. Now, to put on our Bob Villa (or Tim Allen) and (gasp) Martha Stewart hats. MOL has been a great resource for us during our closing period. Thank you all, esp.
