Hello, I’m new in town and very happy that I found MOL. Everyone is so helpful. I’ve taken Coffeeluver’s suggestion to post here. I think my next stop will be Arts and Entertainment. I can’t stand politics, and the Soapbox is way too scary.

Hello Maplewood, howsweet it is! I started reading about this community recently and found it a little like RED Bank. I think your town will be better suited for me to live in. Next month I'll be moving in with a friend a few blocks from the village and I'll be looking for my own place. I don't have a car and I'll be commuting to the city on weekdays, so I need a place for a good cappuccino and Internet access for my laptop. Is there a place close to the station? I'm also looking for someplace to hang in the evenings, no smoking please. Last year I lived in Phoenix for a few months and really got hooked on Karaoke. I love to sing and play the guitar, but I've been looking for love in all the wrong places...:-) |

Welcome, Steven! You can get very good cappucino and probably wireless access (though I don't know) at NetNomads at Springfield Ave and Prospect St, but that's not near the train station. But Deanne sure makes a mean coffee. Starbucks in South Orange is right by the train station. They may have wireless access. I think they have Karaoke or something like it at Here's 2 The Arts on Baker St in Maplewood, which is near the train station. They have something different going on every night. They support local artists of just about every kind, and they also have cappucino! |

I am new to MOL but have lived in Maplewood my entire life - almost 40 years. A truly great town. I look forward to some interesting discussions. |

Steven, Welcome to SO/M! I second the plug for Here's 2 the Arts in Maplewood. Karaoke, Comedy, Jam Sessions, and a mean cup of Joe. Hope to see you around.

Hi. I've lived in Maplewood for 14 years but new to MOL. I joined because I wanted to get the word out on the zoning board _approving_ the cell tower. Unfortunately my attempts at posts haven't worked... Zoning board meets this Monday, May 2nd. Had wished some fellow residents could show up en masse before this fatal mar is inflicted on our village. :-( Otherwise, though, I'm a well adjusted person :-) |

Vviceroy: Welcome to MOL. Sundays are pretty slow on the Message Board but if you want to get the word out on the cell tower issue, you should consider posting information regarding the zoning board meeting in the Mostly Maplewood and Soapbox sections. If this is an open meeting and you want like-minded people to attend, you should include the place and time of the meeting in your post. If you want people to contact zoning board members in advance of the meeting, posting the names of these members and contact information (if generally known, this is the internet after all)would help advance your cause. |

Hello everyone. I've been a South Orange resident for the past four years, but never got around to checking out this site. Thought it would help to get reliable recommendations for the many projects that I hope to undertake at home. |

I have been a South Orange resident for the past nine years, with a daghter in the middle school there. I have recently taken ownership of one of my favourite restaurants, Cent'Anni in Maplewood, with my wife Laura, and we are looking forward to introducing ourselves there any evening except Mondays, and lunchtimes too! Great food, great service and great live music! |

Hey, no pointed questions in the Welcome area. Glad to see David here and hope he stays involved in local politics whether it be as a Trustee (which would be a requirement, I guess) or as a candidate again. |

...sorry Dave and David, I didn't mean to intimidate or stifle anyone’s coming out party. Hey, real politicians should be able to handle the free flow of information especially in the welcoming area...
