"Get over it and judge the man by his actions in office." Sorry Tjohn, but I don’t believe all politicians are liars... However, Jon is off to a bad start, and given the recent poor reception to his budget plan, I'd say his actions have already shown us what we can expect from him in the future, and it ain’t pretty….

"Did Corzine say, "Read my lips: no new taxes"? Better question.... Did Corzine say he would raise sales taxes, cut school programs causing increases in property taxes, and honestly share everything else he already knew he planned to do? No he out-right lied about using his WMD... more taxes and less serices! |

I wasn't totally joking. I was asking what he said. Bear in mind he wasn't looking at the nitty gritty details before elected. Both he and Schwarzenegger have effectively said, "oy, look what I got myself into!" And from my distant viewpoint, I think Schwarzenegger is doing an admirable job at an impossible position.

What politician is going to say revenues to the treasury are up but we're spending way past the increases? Especially in New Jersey. No - it's all about trying to pay off what the state has rung up at the cash register, and those expenditures seem to be beyond reproach. The SCC didn't raise more than a few articles in local newspapers, and McGreevey's administration didn't do anything to disallow his party returning to the helm. |

Dearest Arturo, You know that I know that you know that this whole line of Corzine lying is absolute . Corzine made it very clear that he was concerned about the fiscal situation which is exactly why his rebate plan was so much more sparse than the "plan": offered by the dunce that you supported. If you've got an issue with Corzine cutting back on school budgets and municipal support, I'd suggest that you go back and read the crap that Dougy was spouting in October - and you and Eduardo were repeating gleefully. There was no word on how he was going to pay for his far more extensive give backs other than relying on a series of one-off scandals and issues that he hoped to pull the wool over everyones eyes with And just so you know, I put that in double-sized bold for you While some of us were discussing our eyes-wide-open view of the state's fiscal crunch and questioning how Doug the Dimwit was going to attack it, you were ducking as if you were out hunting with Dick Cheney. While that's an effective strategy if you want to avoid schrapnel, it doesn't work too well with budget issues. Nevertheless, as you well know, I love you anyway. how do you like red italics? |

You're my kind of guy "S"... Actually, I love your new artistic style... it reminds me a lot of myself when I was younger and foolish. Hey, you have to agree it's easy to read, and shows you have a passion for what you believe in. BTW, I love you too, and say what you will, but the man has used his WMD against the already over taxed and under supported residents of New Jersey... He lied to us, thus not unlike what the Dems are doing in Washington, I believe in light of the overall dismal response to his budget, plus the increase in our taxes, we should be considering impeachment...

That sounds familiar, but the teams have appeared to change uniforms. Does this mean I can continue to throw Gore and Kerry's name around without living in the past. Don't you libs see how fun it is? And in your last two posts you use the terms "masturbation" and "fart". For awhile I actually thought you were older than 14. You have lost any high ground you thought you had. And you are correct, my thought processes are limited. I simply don't care what useless liberals believe. Their beliefs don't matter. My good friend Southerner, Anyone who even in jest (if you know what that is) could write the following: "This is hilarious. The libs are now defending the recently elected governor while continuing to trash his opponent even though the election has been over for months. That sounds familiar, but the teams have appeared to change uniforms. Does this mean I can continue to throw Gore and Kerry's name around without living in the past. Don't you libs see how fun it is? Of course, soon you will be called Nazi's and worse since you are defending the man!"... displays a heinous disregard for logic, and a pitiful ignorance of history. Thanks for the Nazi reference. Your teachers may not have covered that period with you in school, so you need to know that the the civilized world normally restricts the use of that word to an especially brutal historical period (so it looks as though you and Rush Limbaugh never went to school that day). I don't need your "high ground." I am just happy to point out when I feel like it, the venom that you continually spew (your Nazi comments only affirm that). And I am free to call the shots as I see them. Doug Forrester's so-called "fiscal plan" IS the financial equivalent of a self-pleasuring erotic fantasy. Its outcome would make him happy, but everyone else would bear the consequences of his financial wet dream. As to you, I believe the expression "mental fart" is quite accurate about your on-going commentary. That's because you appear to use another part of your anatomy instead of your brain when you write your posts. |

And I don't know who would call us Nazis. Is that your way of calling us Nazis? As Innisowen points out, the holocaust was, in common view, the worst event of human history. Likening other things to it diminishes the depravity and suffering that ensued there. It's a cheap, hurtful shot. Is that your goal?

Yes, rhetorical to give him a chance to rethink what he said, which is really offensive to everyone who was affected by the holocaust. It's a cheap shot to compare people with Hitler and Nazis, and it's at the expense of Jews and other people. I know it isn't intended, but the responsibility is there, nevertheless. My outlook of offense is that it is primarily the responsibility of the offender, not the offended. If you step on my toes, you should not yell at me for having my foot out in stepping range.

Now as to Southerner, I must apologize a bit. I'm feeling a little concerned about him, and a little charitable too. I called Rutgers, the State University, to find out the cost per credit for a three credit European History course for non-matriculated students. It's $237 per credit, or $711. I will write a check for $711 to Southerner's real name if he shows me a valid transcript for a three credit course in European History that he takes and passes with at least a C grade, between now and August 2006. So he could fit in a summer school session somewhere. This must be from an accredited college or university, must be a credit course, and he must prove he has attended class and fulfilled all course requirements. Maybe that way, he'll get a chance to learn a few things that he either overlooked, or was absent for, in some previous year. And if he really is only 15 or 16, the course will be a challenge for him, but think of the "leg up" it will give him when he finally is old enough to apply to colleges. This is my offer, and it stands.

If anyone voted for a candidate because they believed their tax reduction plans, they should not have the right to vote. I doubt things would be any different if Forrester were in office. I agree with Libertarian. Our state needs a heart transplant, and Corzine gave us aspirin. Though I guess that's better than more red meat. |

Dearest Southerner, I would like to inform you that early this morning I received an frantic phone call from the boys at Sbenois Linguistics, Inc who were bursting with more excitement than anyone should have at 4am unless they’re out hunting for dinner squirrels in the swamps of Georgia. Obviously, as you well know, that’s a special case. Anyway, I answered the call and without even having a chance to ask why they woke me up, I realized that they had resolved a long-standing deliverable that I had assigned to them at the April 2005 Board of Directors meeting of Sbenois Engineering: Please find out how Southerner constructs those ridiculous Republican rah-rah posts!!! I might have even said dammit at the time but in the interest of keeping this story on a level that won’t raise the ire of right-wing talk radio zealots, let’s just pretend that I didn’t say dammit or God damn it. Anyway, I turned on the light, leaned over the bed, and asked what they had. Their response was so startlingly simple that I nearly kicked over the nightstand. That’s it? That’s how Southerner comes up with these posts? Sheesh. Okay, please send the whole outline to me in an email by 7am. I need to read it and then I’m heading off to give a speech at the We Were Wrong: Bush Really Is A Complete Idiot pep rally being held at RNC Headquarters. At 7am, my computer alarm went off and there, in my inbox, was the email I had been expecting. I am publishing it in its entirety below. Please understand that while this is simply a strong theory at this point, the only way to disprove it is to examine your future posts and see if we find some aberration that might cause the boys to revise the parameters. To: Sbenois From: Sbenois Linguistics CC: Dr. Stefano Re: Southerner’s Posts/Cognitive Thought Processing Gone Astray As we discussed earlier today, my colleagues and I would like to inform you that we have cracked the formula that MOL poster Southerner uses to construct his/her posts. Our success was achieved through the use of proprietary logarithms that were developed by this organization over a 9 month period using Southerner’s posts on all subjects as the input, along with polling data acquired from Fox News. We also relied heavily on daily programming from a number of right-wing talk radio shows. Some of our research, as you know, required the use of the Sbenois Eye in the Sky and we would sincerely like to thank you for allowing it to be trained on the hinterlands and trailer parks of the American South. I have listed below the process that we used along with the results. A. Data Gathering: Step One: build a database of all of Southerner’s posts – we achieved this vital piece of the operation by contacting the world famous Para Social psychoanalyst Dr. Stefano who showed us how to use the MOL search function. This was particularly important because most of the time that darned thing doesn’t work. But Dr. Stefano was able to extract all of Southerner’s posts along with all posts that were written in response to Southerner. The results were put into a database to be accessed using a thin client architecture that works fairly well in research labs but not in under-funded school districts.. Step Two: Obtain transcripts of the following radio programs: Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. This was quite simple. Because we were only interested in the overriding themes of each day’s programming we were able to delete anything that was inconceivable or just plain dumb. This dramatically reduced the amount of actual data extracted by a ratio of roughly 240:1. In simple terms, it means that for every two hours of programming, there is only 30 seconds that makes any sense. And that includes the many commercials for crčams that make your genitals feel good or pills that make your age spots “go away”. One observation that our team made is that advertisers on these shows seem to believe that right wing men have serious sexual dysfunction problems. Step Three: Perform a 24 hour surveillance of the Southeastern US – our goal here was to get as sense of how Southerner lives. While this surveillance is confidential in nature, we took great consolation in knowing that it was easily justifiable under the provisions of the USA Patriot Act. B. Analysis Phase: 1) At first, we were stymied by the algorithms that should be used to determine how Southerners posts were created. Then the process became obvious: Use the Sbenois Universal Translator that was last upgraded in 2003. We took the SUT out of the box, put in some fresh batteries and directed its beam at the Thin Client terminal while the database was being dumped. On another window, the transcripts of the shows were displayed using Macromedia’s flash. Finally, we pointed the translator at the coordinates that the Eye in the Sky had gathered. When it was all done, the translator gurgled for a little while and then the readout said “core dump xx03 beginning” The SUT then began transmitting data to the IP address of the Sbenois Lasso of Omniscience. When the upload was complete, we logged onto the SLO interface and saw the results. They were astounding. C. Methodology Breakdown: How Southerner constructs posts: 1) Find a topic worthy of discussion 2) Begin new thread or response with the following keystrokes: a. “y o u l i b s” 3) Add one or more proper nouns from the following list: a. Clinton b. Hillary c. Gore d. Kerry e. Lewinsky f. Monica g. Bubba h. Corzine 4) Look at map on bedroom wall (dated July 1865) noticing (again) that all states above Virginia have the words “Satan Worshipping Bastards” scribbled in in blue Crayola crayon. Some larger cities have stickers covering their names. Stickers generally are split into three categories: “welfair” (sic) “hell whole” (siccer) “infested with liberal life-sucking rats” (just plain sick) 5) From the following list immediately choose the first 3 or 4 words or phrases that come to mind after viewing the map: a. Blue states b. Red states c. Irvington d. Newark e. Election f. President g. Governor h. Maplewood i. South Orange j. Opponent k. Nazis l. Education m. NCLB n. Hurricane o. Taxes p. Religion q. Welfare mothers r. despair/desperate s. Ridiculous t. Hilarious u. Islamofascist 6) Add verbs as required (tense not important). Choose at least two from the following list: a. Voting b. Throw c. Catch d. Defending e. Living f. Laughing G. Whining H. Slam I. Trash 7) Add optional adverbs 8) Add optional pronouns 9) Hit enter 10) Wait for readers’ laughter to die down End… Now Southerner, I would like you and the rest of MOL to know that I was, at first, very skeptical of what I read this morning. Indeed my initial reaction was that their findings were illogical for everyone knows that the value coming from right wing talk radio is typically disseminated at a ratio of 480:1 (resulting in only 15 seconds being worthwhile), I nevertheless decided to put their findings to the test. So I looked at the following post of yours at 10:54 this morning and sure enough it seems like the theory holds true.
Quote:This is hilarious. Of course, soon you will be called Nazi's and worse since you are defending the man!
1. Today’s worthwhile topic is Corzine’s tax increase. Fair enough. Step one is complete. 2. “you libs”: while not appearing in the beginning of your text, these words can be found later on. I believe that this is simply because you typed it first and then added your thoughts later. So I’d say that step 2 is a bullseye. 3. Another hit. In your post you selected Gore and Kerry. And, apparently as a special bonus, you implied Corzine. This is an astounding literary achievement on your part. The Boys expected two, you went with three. 4. While there is no conclusive proof that you looked at your “Official War of The States and We Really Won” map, complete with Velcro action figures, it’s fairly obvious from your post that you did take a peek at it from your “the teams have appeared to change uniforms” comment. I believe that subconsciously, this alludes to some level of continuing hostility that you have towards Southern generals who a) got their asses kicked in 1865 b) had to get over their whupping and get in line or have their houses burned down. 5. Another bullseye. From the list, you chose election, governor, opponent and the ever popular Nazis. You also threw in hilarious! I believe that this achievement is as great, if not greater, than the use of three proper names above. 6. Southerner shoots, Southerner scores! Defending: yup! Trash: yup! Voting: well YES! You chose vote, close enough!. So far the theory holds up. 7. This is where you just fill in the blanks to try and make the post seem somewhat intelligible. 8. See #7. 9. No problem 10. We’re still laughing (but not with you).
