thanks everyone.... Alley, it is not, but since I shoot my mouth off here the most why not? I'll admit, another small reason I posted this on the political board was a to see if we can put our differences aside for a time of joy. I am happy to see we can, thus, thank you for restoring my faith in the MOL political board. I can't promise my sarcasm will subside but I will try to be nicer... -SLK This is my 2nd.... |

SLK (and Alleygater), sometimes, the human being isn't about his/her politics. sportsnut and I often disagree here, but we're very cordial neighbors, and we do favors for each other, because we actually like each other. I once emailed him and apologized for giving him a hard time on MOL. His gracious response was that it would be a boring world if we all had the same viewpoints.

tulip- If it is any consolation, my son can grow up to be anything he wants as long as he is happy, including a left wing nutcase. And Reingold is right, chances are he may very well become a left winger after listening to me over the years...it is only natural to rebel against your parents. I mean, that is your excuse, right? -SLK

Tom- Maybe I having difficulty explaining myself, but I guess you are correct in your last post. In my opinion and in the grand scheme of things, one's politics shouldn't matter but to some they do. To me they don't, if they did I literally wouldn't have any friends! Being fully aware of my unpopularity on these boards, I was just checking to see if in fact the politics can be put aside and by far they have. Unfortunately you have left wing [old] hacks like tulip that can't seem to get past politics, even with something simple as a birth announcement. I guess my son(s) is going to have to grow up to get arrested at an anti-war protest before she gives the thumbs up.... Let's just say I am trying to see who my true "friends" are.... -SLK |

The world you want for your little baby is a world where the environment means nothing, people do nothing to try to protect their children, people are not accountable for the damage they do to their world, the poor are allowed to die without hope. I say, I find you offensive, and I don't care whether you and the whole town hates me. You are selfish and boring. Reading you taking over the message board has been a really depressing experience. I can have babies too. Doesn't mean I'm a great person. I am not a left-wing hack, as you say, but you are indeed an evil person who has been calling people names just because you don't like their opinions. I am just giving you a bit of your own medicine. May this baby you have open your mind to the real world around you. Pathetic that no one holds you to account, but not surprising.

And furthermore, you "rose to prominence" on the message board rather the way Hitler rose to power. By creating vendettas against people, ridiculing them in your little pathetic way, and stamping on their energy. I find you vile. May I never see you or your family. Period. I quote you "I'll be all over you like a pair of Fruit of the Looms" Making threats on the internet is a federal offense, but apparently, you are the life of the party and the darling of the jerks. |

For your information, "Daddy" I am still proud of my son, even though and because he stood up for what he believes. I doubt that any offspring of a person who has to cower and plead with people who find him vile and tell him so would have the guts to do that. A fellow student my son was arrested with was just elected to County Council, with my son's hard work and help, and my son is graduating in December. And as for the politics of my parents, they had the guts to stand up to the real estate establishment in Morristown when they were redlining African Americans. They worked with the Fair Housing council to root out racism in real estate. The were in World War II, my mother as a social worker for the Red Cross, and my father a captain in the Air Force. They came hope to be life-long Democrats, hardworking and righteous. They didn't suffer fools either. They were great liberals, fighting nuclear proliferation through their support of the organization called SANE Nuclear Policy, fighting discrimination in schools and housing, fighting all the idiots who thought they were protecting the country but were actually taking it back to the Neolithic era. And, my friend, those types must have been your grandparents, judging from your truly unbearable personality. You are what you believe, and you need to stand for something. Right now, all you stand for is clubby silliness, and your represent all I cannot abide in suburban social life. But I wouldn't touch your town with a ten foot pole at this point. Too suburban. Too SUV. Too bad!!! Maybe kenney, Tom Reingold, Innisowen and the others will love you now. Best of luck.

"May I never see you or your family. Period."I'll be all over you like a pair of Fruit of the Looms" " Jamie/Board Moderators...this seems like a threat to me....what are you going to do about it? Any "vacation time" for tulip? -SLK tulip, I see I struck a nerve with you writing all your threatening pyschobabble at the wee hours in the morning. Please take my advise and start your own board where you live. It seems Maplewood is all well and good with you until someone that actually lives here questions your politics. Reingold- As I said before, behold a perfect example of people that can't separate politics from the person. How pathetic... -SLK |

tulip, the cheap shot of comparing a common person to Hitler is offensive, as it diminishes the gravity of the holocaust. For the sake of the memory of the holocaust, and for those whose families suffered, please don't do that. All babies offer a brilliant ray of hope. You might spit in SLK's face, but if you held his baby, you would probably smile. And my guess is that you wouldn't spit in his face while holding his baby.

Scrote: This is what you spend your time doing in the days following the birth of your son? Picking fights in the politics sections of MOL? I mean, you stated that this thread was essentially a test, to see if anyone gave a damn about your personal life as separate from politics. At first I thought you were just fishing for virtual love, fine that's a little desperate but cool, but you're really just using what should be a cherished time in your life to try and stick it to your left-wing neighbors to prove "people can't separate politics from the person." That's so pathetic I don't whether to laugh or cry for you.

RL, I didn't expect anything less from you. That is how predictable you are. Your reading comprehension is lacking too if you can't tell who picked the fight on this thread. Trust me I am cherishing the time with both my children. Tood bad you can't offer a simple congratulations to someone who has different politics then you. And you call me pathetic? Again, case closed. Seig Heil, -SLK As suspected, if you and tulip were in charge I would have been force fed the hemlock long ago....thank God your opinion is of no consequence (except for you of course).... |

Scrote: Sorry to disappoint you, my indifference to your mazel has nothing to do with politics. It has everything to do with your insufferable personality. But go around telling everyone it's about politics if it makes you feel better. We all know this thread was started on false pretenses. (If, for example, Guy, a right-leaning voice here I like, came here with the same news my post to him would be quite different...regardless of politics.) |

RL - - you reap what you sow. Civility and human understanding go a long way when discussing issues which can affect each of us significantly and significantly differently. In other words being a snide (insert adjective further illustrating SLK style) isnt conducive to gettng a pleasant response when announcing personal milestones. |

Next time take your personal crap to the virtual cafe or something. Start a blog. Or at least make it known in your thread title the topic is personal so I can skip over it. The less I know about your creepy little life the better. And I f*cking resent the toss-off Nazi reference from your previous post. What kind of scumbag anti-Semetic remark is that? |

SLK: YOU issued the threat at ME. Look back at the archives. Anyway, I hope you learn some innocence from your baby. Tom, I would not be holding SLK's baby. Everyone else, you weren't reading when SLK kept attacking me when all I was doing was posting my views. I am sick of his personal insults, and I think the time has come for him to stop, now that he has a mouth to feed. |

Tom: One cheap shot, in response to hundreds. By the way, my family suffered in the Holocaust also, so I wouldn't take the high ground about that if I were you. Also, this character has totally boondoggled you, and now you defend him. That sounds like the Third Reich to me. Sorry.

Tulip: Don't worry much about the Scrod. For goodness sake, the guy just has a baby and one of the first things he does is post on MOL not to make an announcement, or pass out virtual cigars as it were, but to keep track of who congratulated him and accuse those who didn't of not doing so because of politics. Can you even imagine the twisted, demented mentality that dreams this up? |
