1) That Kerry is truly boring and he lacks any vision other than he wants to be the President

2) That Edwards is a non-entity and his selection was a mistake. Where is this guy?

3) That conventions are complete wastes of time for anyone with a brain

4) That the Red Sox made up a whole lot of games on the Yankees in the last month.

5) That America needs a new political party that isn't headed by a kook like Nader.

6) That Sbenois is seriously thinking about either not voting or writing in McCain

I may vote for Bush now. Between Tulip and this convention I am leaning that way.

I did not learn much, but my thinking was confirmed:

President Bush is a leader and one that will defend the freedom that we enjoy.

Senator Kerry has no vision, no leadership, no ability to lead our nation.

With President Bush you know what get.

With Kerry you get something different every day.

Perhaps most important..Keep the faith..for years I have been a big Red Sox fan and for the last month they have played great.

McCain on The Daily Show when asked by John Stewart his impressions of Zell Miller's lunatic speech: "It was like John Kerry shot his dog."

I would vote for McCain in an instant if I could. Thanks to punks like Bush and the little punks that believe his lies, America is denied a real president.

I learned that Kerry does not know the date;

From his website at 11:38 eastern on 9/2:

“For three days in New York, instead of talking about jobs and the economy, we heard anger and insults from the Republicans. And I'll tell you why. It's because they can't talk about the real issues facing Americans. They can't talk about their record because it's a record of failure. I believe it's time to move America in a new direction; I believe it's time to set a new course for America.” - John Kerry, September 3, 204

Is Nantucket in the Atlantic time zone???

I said this on 9/3, but it was only 9/2????

Get with it Kerry

ooh good catch, sylad. he posted the speech he's going to make at midnight 9/3 a half hour early on his website, just as politicians often hand out their speeches to reporters beforehand. but you got him. you got him good.

He's gone from "Bring it on" to "This is your wake-up call."

Not good when a candidate speaks and does wake-up calls.

That the canidate that sits around in a ballroom in Ohio waiting for the convention to end and uses the song "you're simply the best" as an into is not presidential.

Unless the content of this speech and the delivery are at the A+ level, this idea was a waste of time and another example of how not to run your campaign.

He just blew it..he started and said that the Red Sox pulled within 2.5 of the Yankees...First off it is not true..the Sox won, as did the Yankess..keeping the lead to 3.5...but worst of all the Yankees beat Cleveland..in Ohio..he made this comment....how out of touch can you be.

On the good side, Edwards gave a great into, looked honest and like it came from the heart.

The Kerry/Edwards plan for winning the presidency seems to revolve around a few central themes:

A.) My patriotism is being attacked by the evil Republicans (it isn't, and never has been)

B.) They didn't serve in Vietnam, I did (So what...neither did Bill Clinton, and his opponents in '92 and '96 were both war heroes)

C.) President Bush misled the nation on Iraq (He didn't, and the evidence exonerates him)

D.) Don't bring up my Senate voting record. This is all about my Vietnam service record. Any mention of my Senate voting record is an attack on my patriotism.

E.) I snowboard and windsurf. Wouldn't I look good in the White House?

Where's the beef? What are their issues? The economy is taking off like a rocket...they've got nothing to talk about, and it shows.

4 More Years, thankfully.

Aren't voters supposed to cast their vote in favor of a candidate? Maplewoody, you too should play soccer. Eh?

Kerry is an empty suit.

What is this crap about making America safer? Safer from Iraq that was already under sanctions for more than a decade during? Safer from Osama whose name was not mentioned even once last night and who is still roaming the mountains of Afghanistan courtesy, the non-NATO ally of the US?

Whenever I listen to Bush and his cronies giving their dumbed down speeches about security and safety, I gather the collective IQ of the Republicans is just above freezing temp.

And those are empty sandles.
What I learned is that Conventions are a huge waste of money. I learned nothing I didnt already know. Neither candidate speaks to my sense of humanism much less the deterioration of civility all around the country.
I learned that GWB has grown as a speaker, but shrunk as a man. There was a snideness to him that got me a little riled up.
That, apparently, he is the only person responsible for the world post 9/11
That Kerry will have an uphill battle but that this is not going to be the landslide Marian predicts.
That given the POTUS ability to speak out of both sides of his mouth its hard to tell what he really thinks or plans to do.
That no matter what Sbenois YOU MUST VOTE. People die in other countries for the right to do what you say you are to disenfranchised (at least thats how I read your post) to do. Write in McCain, but do not NOT vote. You are smarter and more responsible to have meant that.
I learned that Madison Square Garden can throw a party.
I learned that The Bush girls need a little coaching if they plan to help in the next 60 days.
I learned that everytime the camera landed on Laura Bush she looked afraid, not proud.
I marveled at what it must have felt like to be George Herbert Walker Bush and Barbara Bush and to be alive to see your son accepting the same nomination that his dad had. As a father that must have been a tremendous moment. I am happy for the Bush's sake that George the elder was alive to watch that. My father couldn't make it to my wedding he was so sick.
I learned that the things I care about are the same things that alot of the people on the convention floor care about. I just think there is a better way of doing it.
