How many of you are going to encourage your sons and daughters to join the miliary? How many of you are willing to go to Iraq as contract employees? Didn't think so. |

Bobk has asked the classic question: What if they gave a war, and nobody came? |

Well if the war on terror requires a larger American force you do the math. Iraq & Afghanistan is only the beginning. This war will be fought until the end of time unless we make it clear that those who harbor terrorists have no future. It's the only way to win. When a Jihad is called which in essence means a call to kill all non believers it's a war that can't be won. All you can do is control it. This is what America began doing in Afghanistan and Iraq. I know liberals can't understand this because most if not all are frankly pretty stupid, but this is the bottom line. |

GWB, I guess when you have no point, you look for grammatical errors. I'd point out some of your errors (one right in your above post) but your not worth the time or effort. Have fun with yourself, it's a lot easier when you have multiple personalities. |

The "free world"? It's not the fifties any longer, you know. Do you have any idea how laughable this sounds to anyone outside your small circle of Republican wingnuts? |

You can march to defend N. Korea if you want, and I'm sure your circle and the UN will embrace you. |

"free world" - laughable? America has the responsibility to protect all free Democratic nations globally. Those that wish to share our freedom should be given the assistance to do so. I would hardly call that laughable except to dictators like Fidel Castro or yourself. Many have died in the name of freedom. Show some respect.

Yea Monty ya Commie, show some respect for those who died or put themselves in harms way in the name of freedom, like George W Bush and Dick Cheney, er ah, I mean John Kerry. |

Kuwait and Saudi Arabia fit into US security interests mainly because of the sea of oil they sit upon. And the rest of the world, for that matter. If anyone tries to invade Saudi, Kuwait, Norway, Mexico, Canada or Venezuela, you can bet we'd be fighting there too. Not so, the French. |

The Republicans have traditionally supported terroristic governments in Latin America, and Bush's talk about the "free world" would be comic if it weren't so sick. On the other hand, we've reached a point where former U.S. puppets like General Pinochet in Chile are recognized for the criminals they really were, and can be extradited to stand trial in the countries they once terrorized. It's a shame that his U.S. sponsors are so much harder to bring to justice.

By the way, getting back to the title of this thread - Given the leaning of Maplewood, I'd say more of Maplewood was represented by the mother of the soldier than by Ed May. |
