Greenie-
I just looked and can't find the 'vomit' icon! I'm sure Monster could come up with one though! What do you guys think of Simon's "Are you drunk" comment to Taylor? It seems from on of the sites on the AOL sign on screen, Taylor was not very happy about the comment.

I can't wait for Kelly to go. She is so fake. I use to like her but have decided in the past week or so she can't be ***that*** stupid. My sister loves her as well as the nephews. My money is on Taylor or Chris...

When you really take a look at the talent, it's so thin. Can you think of one performance where you thought, "now there's a star"?

Predictions?

Kellie was awful but I think she has enough fans to survive. Elliot and Ace are in trouble. I say Elliot is gone.

Hmmm. I dunno - Kelli was pretty bad. Didn't hear Elliot and I always think that Ace should go.

Kelli got the most criticism from the judges so maybe it will be her.

Now, I am a huge Paris fan. But, I didn't get all the praise last night. I thought that she was technically excellent, but didn't get any passion. That song needed torchy feeling. The arrangement was a little slow, too.

ACE is GONE!!!

With the exception of ACE, how is that Paris and Chris were included in the bottom 3?

Kellie is the weakest of all the singers, had the worst perfomance, yet she still remains. Her dumber-than-thou shitck is really annoying.

I really couldn't believe how the top 3 and bottom 3 played out - top 3 should have been Chris, Paris and Kathryn. It was definitely time for Ace to go.

Besides the voice, the "stupid act" was getting tired.

No more suffering on the eardrums! BYE, BYE Kellie!

She never pretended to be smart. She mentioned more than once her roots and if you took the time to listen, she is a young woman who comes from a small town in North Carolina and has a supportive family. Having spent a lot of time in the south due to my Mom being from North Carolina, Kelli's sweetness is not schtick...I have well educated cousins who are just as sweet and syrupy as Kelli Pickler. There are people in this world who have not been exposed to the "real world" that we have and because of this are unjaded. If you did not like her singing, that is one thing...do not pick on a person's background or guess about their education just because they seem to be different from what you are used to. These are all my humble thoughts.

I wonder if there would be this much negative sentiment about her if she was a tubby brunette. Similarly, if Ace looked like your average Joe would people have been less negative about him? Granted, both turned in some bad performances.

There are people in this world who have not been exposed to the "real world" that we have and because of this are unjaded.

BGS,

This I beleive, however, Kellie may be "putting on" an act. Did a little research and here's what I found.

from http://www.votefortheworst.com/pickler.html

KELLIE'S LIE #1: "I've barely sung in front of people before."

This is completely false and, frankly, we are surprised that very few people have called her on this one. Kellie has, indeed, sung in front of people and is no stranger to the stage. Eventually, she even changed her statement to "I've only sang in the shower before", which is an even lamer lie. Kellie won a county beauty pageant when she was 17 and subsequently competed to become Miss North Carolina.

Kellie

from Kellies yearbook.

KELLIE'S LIE #2: "What's calamari? What's a spinach salad? What's salmon?"

Kellie Pickler is known for saying stupid things on television. "What's a ballsy?" comes to mind. No one is stupid enough to ask that. No one except fake Kellie. We decided to do a little investigation to find out just how backwoods Kellie's home town of Albemarle, North Carolina really is. Wait a minute... JD Shuckers has salmon AND calamari on the menu. That must just be a fluke though. Let's try another restaurant. How about The Boardroom? Oh hey, it says they have spinach salads and salmon. It could just be a coincidence though. How about 304 Pontiac Pointe? They have calamari too, and they've even recently named it after Kellie. Miss Pickler has to have been to one of these restaurants at some point in her life and seen these items on the menu, if not seen people eat them. One angry North Carolinan writes in reply to EW's Pop Watch

"I'm from North Carolina and it makes me sick that this girl is representing us. Contrary to popular belief we eat salmon, spinach and calamari and we know the difference between a minx and a mink. It's amazing that while she's getting her fake tan, teeth whitened and hair done that she has never run across SALMON before.

Touché, intelligent North Carolinan. Touché.

KELLIE'S LIE #4: "I don't know what I'm doing."

The naive act that Kellie puts on every week is starting to wear a little thin for most viewers, because it hardly seems genuine anymore.

********************

Your statement holds true for last years Idol Carrie Underwood though. Carrie didn't "pretend" to be naive, something about her viewers did NOT see the "fakeness" that they see with Pickler.

The girl is NOT that dumb. She did make it to the top 6! And I beleive this is NOT the last we'll see of Kelli. Actually, I think she may be suited for an acting career.

I used to live in North Carolina for 5 years. There are a lot of sweet and syrupy people there...I agree. But they do not act stupid like Kellie. It's a lame and annoying act.

However, I also believe Katherine and Paris act very fake.

Thank you all for pointing out just how naive I must be!!! :-).
I guess that I did not hear all the things that were quoted above and was going on my perception...I will say this though...just because restaurants in the area serve calamari and salmon and spinach salad does not mean that someone has eaten them or even heard of them.

Kellie put on a horrible performance - she isn't cut out to sing Unchained Melody. Judging solely from talent, it was time for her to go . . .

. . . i absolutely LOVED Chris' performance - I've always liked that song :-)

Well it had to happen...

American Idol's Kelly Pickler to Star in Universal Studios Remake of the Classic "Gentleman Prefer Blondes"

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/28/2006 -- American Idol star Kelly Pickler has signed on to star in Universal Pictures upcoming feature film remake of the hit Marilyn Monroe classic film "Gentleman Prefer Blondes", it was announced today by Universal Studios president Ron Mayer.

Pickler will play Lorelei Lee in the film, which is being directed by Adam Shenkmen ("Baby Cakes," "Raising the Roof") and produced by Ivan Zadan and Neil Meroni, for their Zadan/Meroni Productions, who previously executive produced the Golden Globe winning "Raphael's Moon." A nationwide casting search is currently under way to find a newcomer to play the role of Dorothy Shaw in the film, with production on "Gentleman Prefer Blondes" scheduled to begin this Fall for a potential Summer 2007 release.

"This classic film of the 50's is ready for a fresh new look 50 years later", commented Universal Studios president Ron Mayer. "Kelly is a rare talent. She has an innocence and freshness that recalls the late Marilyn Monroe at her finest".

"After Idol everybody asked me what I was going to do next", said Pickler "Well, I love singing, but actressing is what I really want to do and in this movie I'll be doing both, I think. To be able to play the role made famous by such a great and talented actress such as Marilyn Manson is truly an honor and a privilege. Did I say that right? Priv-i-lege? Monroe? Oh, I'm Sorry".

"Gentleman Prefer Blondes" is originally based on the Broadway musical based on the novel based on the short story about lounge singers on a transatlantic cruise, working their way to Paris, and enjoying the company of any eligible men they might meet along the way. The new version of the film will be follow the same story line of the original but the singers will be on a Spring break cruise to Hawaii and the gentleman will be frat boys.

Pickler says, "I'm just a little girl from North Carolina. I always wanted to go to Hawaii. It seems so far away. Well, it is I guess, isn't it?".

The film will be lensed on the lot at Universal Studios, Los Angeles.

I jut wanted to let you know it is all your fault I got no sleep last night! Nope, I didn't! Why? Because I followed your 'Kelly' link and ended up reading the websites for several hours! So, I'm holding you personally responsible for the big dark circles under my eyes!

I didn't realize how many people didn't like Kelly. My sister isn't going to be happy when she sees the links I sent her. LOL

Taylor and Paris are funny...when they pick a good song and are on their game they are awesome. Otherwise they suck big time.

Katherine had a good 2nd song, but she does feel fake. Smiles at inappropriate times and doesn't seem to feel the music.

Elliot I just don't get. All of his vocal maneuvering makes it difficult for me to figure out if he can actually hold a note. I enjoyed his 1st performance last night though.

It's all about Chris for me. But then I'm an alt-rocker-angst kind of gal. And I love the baldies (don't tell my husband that though, at least until he looses his hair).

Ok so given who's left, I'm not sure if there's any interesting pairing left for the finals. It's fairly obvious that Chris will be there but of the other 4, none are strong enough to make that a really good show. At least last year, both Bo & Carrie were strong singers in different ways.

Fake? ahhh…yeh.

Both Paris and Katherine have the "stage mom" thing going. They seem to smile and cry (Paris) on cue.

Poor Taylor. What was he thinking. How could anyone take him seriously after that first performance. (For some reason, John Belushi is coming to mind.)

At this point of the competition, I'm guessing Chris will and SHOULD win!

I still love Elliot's voice tho.

To tell the truth, I am starting to feel like I did in the 2004 election. Pull the lever for the least offensive.

I still think that if Paris were a few years older, she'd be the best choice. Diva, fake, whatever. If we are talking about the best talent, it would be her. She just needs the life experience to put the emotion into the music.
