I know a few businesses that try to have live music in our village and they keep getting noise complaints. For instance, the police kept having to come by Here's to the Arts saturday night. They don't do anything, because I guess they are allowed to have music until 10pm, but the police are obligated to come by. Seems like a waste of police manpower to me. From some posts I've read on MOL, we would be better served if they were patrolling the parking lot of Verjus rather than making an appearance at downtown music venues. They'd probably prefer to handle real issues. I had heard that the pub had to curtail their live music as well. If you choose to live downtown, should you not expect to deal with downtown noise? And with a community so arts based, isnt it kind of cool that we have some sort of night life in our town. Seems like most people around here moved here from the city anyway. What do you think? |
