A few of us (myself, my husband, Chris, Jim and Carol Buchanan and other Concord Ave./Lexington Ave. folks) are planning a block party When? Sat. Sept 9 2 to 8 pm (rain date Sunday the 9th) Where? Concord Ave., between Princeton and Rutgers Why? Because we LOVE to have fun and want to hang with our neighbors. FUN FOR ADULTS AND KIDDIES!! Invite your friends! FOOD, GAMES, BIKE PARADE, FACE PAINTING, RACES, MUSIC (LIVE AND PRO DJs) Interested? Come to the planning meeting at my house, 33 Concord Ave., this Sunday from 3 to 4 pm or PL me. I've been involved in great block parties in Maplewood (in fact met my husband at my first one!!!) and want to keep the fun going! Hilton Block Party Flyer! Thanks to everyone who came out and (block) partied with us. Concord Ave. folks are great! Hilton Area neighbors are great! The bands were great! The DJ was great! The food was Fabulous and Abundant! The weather couldn't have been better. Thanks kids for keeping the energy up for all 6 hours of the party--I hope you had fun with the many activities! Thanks to all the grown ups for mingling and getting to know your neighbors and wearing name tags! Thanks Maplewood Fire Department for bringing out the truck and for the Police representative for stopping by. Thanks to almost everyone on the Town Council for coming out too. This was the first annual event but we'll be back next year!
