oh drew, give it a rest! Have you taken a good look lately? The mess created by the idiotic bankrupt company supposedly fixing the stream wall has made a waaaay bigger mess than the dogs ever did. Besides the piles of crap left along the banks, they destroyed the amphitheatre even more with their trucks that created a worn out path still very visible.

ffof-
100% agreed.

It's simply that if there were unleashed dog wear & tear, IN ADDITION to the present contractor mess, would be even worse than it is now.

I'm confident that the TC is aware of the situation. It definitely needs addressing.

I can no longer stay silent. I received a flyer the other day for Jerry and Vic's campaign. On the flyer, listed as one of their accomplishments, was the wall reconstruction in the park. They had a picture of just one side of the river.

How can they seriously promote this project as an accomplishment when it is half-finished, the park is a mess, and the contractor went belly-up?

it is a mess. no amount of apologies or explanations of the low bid process etc can excuse this shambles.

If the bonding co is supposed to be acting (Jerry 9/02 - a scant 8 months ago) where are they ?

Vic, Jerry - when will the park be restored to it's former glory ?

Give me a date, not a list of reasons why you can't give me a date.

Mellie,

I notice you keep asking Vic and Jerry the two people on the TC you have shown you dislike, I do believe your people (Fred and Ian) are on the TC also. Why don't you ask one of them? Don't give me the explanation of they didn't hire the company, just give me the explanation on why you haven't asked them. Afterall isn't Fred a big time attorney? Shouldn't he know how to get around all these laws and procedures? Or maybe there is just no way of getting around it?

eb1154

er, Vic is the Mayor, Jerry is the one who said the bond holder would clean it up. So that is why I asked them. And, as I believe Eisenhower said, the buck stops here. Vic is the Mayor, the buck stops there.

Also, are you on the TC - no, then would you mind not tying up this thread with irrelevancies.

I am a taxpayer and I legitimately want an answer. I want to use my park - what is so wrong with that ?

PS - I couldn't give a damn about who is in office so long as the job is getting done. Right now it is not getting done.

Actually Millie, the quote is from a sign Harry Truman allegedly had in his office when he was President.

Eb, The Mayor and Mr. Ryan seem proud of their work on the repairs to the park since it is included in their list of achievements in the second brochure they sent out, as it was in the first. Millie's question is, imho, a valid one and directing it to The Mayor is correct.

TS Floyd hit us on September 16, 1999 by my recollection. Today is the 44th monthly anniversary of the storm and the damage still hasn't been repaired. I hope the work can be completed before the 4th of July celebrations. This was promised for 2002, maybe it can become a reality in 2003.

Incidentally, where are the boys getting the money for these mailings? I always think of them as poor, but honest Democrats who are running without the support of the local, county and state organizations.
