It has come to my attention that there is a vote by the Township Committee this Tuesday, 4/20/04 regarding a motion to move the Skate Park from its' current location in the pool parking lot (which is only used for about 8 weeks/year) to Walter Park. Where is Walter Park you ask? Apparently it is the park at the corner of Valley and Oakland where there are 2 platform tennis courts and 2 tennis courts. The skate park is used primarily by young males. These tennis courts are used year-round by people of all ages and both genders, and moving the skate park there does not make any sense. Come to the township committee meeting this Tuesday evening (with your tennis raquet), and show the town that you don't want to lose 2 tennis courts just to relocate the skate park. |
